  1. Just in case anyone wants to see the pup I got in November aged 6 weeks and how she;s developed, now she's heading for 6 months. I'm a sucker for a brindle: 1st night, 6 weeks to the day old: 5 months old: As you can see, I'm no David Bailey More David Blunkett.
  2. what an incredibly beautiful dog! Wish I could find a pup of her
  3. Got any pics mate, what are they like on the .17hmr? I've got a slot on my ticket for one
  4. I've had success with shaping a nest out of grass and putting a couple of eggs in it like a ground nesting birds nest. They are indeed very wily and it makes me laugh when you see people claiming to have shot loads of crows (they usually turn out to be rooks!). TBH most of my magpie victims these days are at 100 yards plus with the .17 hmr
  5. makes your pee smell bad - not recommended before any 69 action lol!
  6. And how many rabbits do you find hiding behind paint tins? Seriously waste of time at best, a complete liability at worst! Your quarry would thank you for only putting lead down your air rifles barrel and then the quarry in question at least stands a chance of an accurately placed shot striking its vitals and a humane switch off.
  7. I've only known 2 people who bought Pumas and both traded up asap. They may have improved and a warranty is good, but what a ball-ache having to claim on a warranty. Personally, I wouldn't entertain one. Thats a keen price on your American Rich M, what have you got/are you getting in its place? Cheers D
  8. Not really, but its not down to me is it? Hence the question I posed. Clearly, we have different values when it comes to dogs. Good luck and all the best Duncan.
  9. aint that the truth! Always seem to end up down trading somehow lol!
  10. Sorry if it started a bit of a slanging match, not my intention mate and I wish you all the best and better still for the dog. My take as a shooter as well as dog pack owner is; if I didn't get on with a rifle, I'd get a variation on my fac and change it. I just feel dogs being flesh and blood, with attachment to their owners (love? thats another subject altogether) shouldn't be treated the same. As I said, all the best to dog and new owner! Ps, if no-one comes forward with £400, I've just lost a faithful dog and there's room in my pack again for a valued member
  11. Useful looking dog. Poor thing. I hate to say that I don't get your reason for shifting her on. I couldn't imagine one day waking up and thinking 'right, im going to get a jrt, a couple of bedlingtons and a saluki. So I'll get rid of the loyal dogs I've got and get a fresh batch in, until I change plans again...' Help me understand! It just doesn't seem very fair to the dog.
  12. Have a very happy birthday guys
  13. Thats great to see mate! Will have to crack on and make one too
  14. you shouldn't even covet it
  15. hollow points for close range shooting make a lot of sense, those or wadcutters hit hard and don't tend to over-penetrate as much. The fact that they don't group so well at 30 yards plus is no issue if you're only shooting 10-25 yards. Cheers D.
  16. thanks folks- bought it now in very good condition too. only the odd mark on the stock otherwise mint. Can't wait to go for a mooch with it
  17. 3fpe at target should cleanly kill a bunny if you accurately hit the cranium.
  18. pesky lamp post, springing out behind a truck like that! That'll cost Travis Perkins insurance company a bit lol
  19. give me the coordinates of the field and I'll find out and ask for you
