9/10s of my permissions have more than one bridleway crossing them (ie have access to Joe Public) and I've never had a problem, as many other shooters haven't, given the same conditions. I hope the chap sees sense for you.

agree with sargeant pants. Get to a club - loads of free and well-intentioned advice, especially amongst airgunners.
IIWY I'd put an ad in the 'shooting wanted' bit looking for a day out with someone to show you the ropes on their land/permission. You are far more likely to get this from a decent THL member than someone offering you 'permission to shoot'.

My two get a couple plus whatever our extended family dish out which is more than enough IMHO.
Same as OP, as kids, we were just grateful for whatever we got.
