  1. pm's going - sorted bar the collection. Thanks folks
  2. God I'm such a retard! Can a mod please put this in the right section!!!!!!
  3. I'll never get my head round that. If you're sensible with it and only headshoot them with the .17 hmr they are dead before they hit the ground: 100 yards, didn't know a thing. Just got to have them close enough to make the humane headshot. I'm sure some will say engine room shots are ok, but I wouldn't go for that myself. That said, if I was going to be after foxes a lot, I'd be getting a .243 and use 55grain bullets, heavier bullets for deer.
  4. Had a discussion in The Gun Cupboard (Castle Ashby, Northants) and apparently northants are taking 4 months even to do a variation and up to almost 8 months for a new FAC. I feel chuffed with my own area now - 1 for 1 variation turned round in a fortnight
  5. Hi folks, I've got an old deben lamp with a flip down red filter in good order which I've been using as a handheld lamp for the last few years. It's got a battery pack belt and works pretty well. The beam brightness is adjustable too. As its fairly old , the battery only lasts about an hour or maybe a touch more, but the bulb is still good. I lost the mounting bracket that enables it to be mounted to your scope some time ago. So for someone who is starting out either lamping with a lurcher, or going lamping bunnies with a mate it would be just fine. Would need to pick up from near Ne

  7. Nice rig by the sounds of it mate You are bang on about a good trigger making a big difference. Somehow I didn't think you were doing that with a CZ 511 semi auto Just ordered a Weihrauch HW60 in .22lr and I'm looking forward to having a decent rifle to fill the .22 slot and offload the CZ. Had 2 CZ's now, just didn't get on with either of them. ATB Duncan
  8. Nice group at that range Rifleman! What rifle is it? And well done for proving the naysayers wrong without getting childish and resorting to name-calling. A good shot and a gentleman. I reckon I'll crack on and upgrade my current rimmie- never did get on with it lol! Not that semi-autos were ever able to match a good bolt action in the accuracy stakes.
  9. A tenner says its a barrel that isn't free-floating when it should be.
  10. In that case, I'd check that the barrel is completely free-floating. If not, sand out enough stock material to make sure that the barrel has zero contact whatsoever with the stock. Im not a betting man, but I'd bet this sorts out your windage zero shift problem. I had exactly the same problem on a 452 varmint in .22. Atb Duncan.
  11. Can't beat something tasty in the pigeon hide! My mate takes the pee out of me because I have a fold out 3 seater bench seat with a back that I always take pigeon shooting - handy seat between shooters allows space for carts and a brace or two of Chocolate Hobnobs No point not being comfy!
  12. you are correct in what you say, the old boys use to call it bread and cheese around this way if memory serves me right, yum yum bread and cheese! yes, that was what folk called it! I was struggling to remember it, thanks
  13. easy tiger! and anyway, in our house it's 'special cuddles'
  14. haw blossom and leaf buds are edible for humans too. Quite tasty on a sunny spring morning when you're sat with an air rifle, waiting for bunnies to venture from their warren
  15. Stood in the queue at tescos, youngest lad who was 2 at the time, turned to the wife and pointed at the woman in front and said "mum, wouldn't you love to slap that big fat arse".
  16. Lol @ your avatar pic stevo! I want that as my screensaver
