  1. Honestly sussex, it's an absolute doddle pal. Just as easy as a normal sling, it's only a chest strap! I was out lamping last night in my waterproof Sawzi jacket and it's a doddle. You're certainly not wrong about lighter rifles though
  2. Simon, I hate to say it but you really should have opted for the German powerhouse that it the HW100. Superbly engineered and comes regulated as standard. Really lovely rifles as you come to expect from Weihrauch. I picked mine up brand new for £700
  3. Over the last few weeks I've had the pleasure of using a brand new product on my CZ452 and Tikka T3 Varmint. I'd been in the lookout for a double strap/harness for the T3 which is relatively heafty when combined with a large scope and bipod. After responding to a post on another forum I was soon in touch with Tuukka, one of the co-founders of 3HGR and within a couple of weeks two samples of the sling landed on my desk at work. Here's a short clip of the gun rest and carry system which contains a nifty little feature allowing the user to attach the sling to a tree, or any vertical uprig
  4. Really good, I'll give anyone interested my honest opinion in the review but there really aren't any bad things to report
  5. Hi Brickhill, thanks pal. The make of the rifle sling is '3HGR' - A new product manufactured in Finland. Not yet available in the UK but soon will be. Can't give you any info on price but I have two examples for review. I'll post the video within the next couple of weeks and I'll hopefully have more info by then
  6. Had a stroll out yesterday with the CZ452. 22LR. Only bagged a couple but it was nice to get out all the same
  7. The 1517 surely is a better outfit than a CZ? But not as good as a Tikka. 223 unfortunately and I needed the money to fund one. For £150 the 22LR CZ is all I need for the rabbits
  8. Used to shoot an Annie 1517 HMR Rez, but not any more
  9. Eley subs all day long through my old CZ452
  10. The new hawke scopes look interesting but I haven't seen as review of then yet. I'm sure they'll be getting better and better all the time. I really like the Vortex Viper PST on my. 223 so I'd be tempted to check out their cheaper scopes to see how they faired
  11. the sling works fine, the latch has never opened since I've had it. It's around 29 years old and I've had it reblued by Colin Molloy, Full Monty Tune by Dave Hall and a HW97 stock fitted that came with the adjustable but pad: http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/253465-dave-hall-tuned-hw77k/ Don't use it as often as I should. Would love to get into HFTwith it but just don't have the time
  12. Had this out of the cabinet over the last couple of weeks due to a large population of jackdaws that nest near my house.. I'm talking up to 150! The buggers make a mess of the feeding troughs on the farm I have permission to shoot on and decimate any food I put out for the other birds. The bathroom window has so far been the perfect spot to snipe them!
  13. There's only one choice <a href=" http://s863.photobucket.com/user/elliott_g/media/Mobile%20Uploads/DSC_0102_zps1fbc632b.jpg.html"
  14. With £1k you could buy a nice new Tikka T3 or a secondhand, great condition Sako. That's where my money would be spent!
  15. Thanks for that. Is an Odyssey Game bag. Not sure if they make them anymore but it is quite good! Check out Hunter's Vermin on YouTube, he did a review on his
  16. Just ordered one from America, via ebay for £295 inc. postage and import duties
  17. Ha ha, thanks Cedric, it's kind of a second hobby now - adds another dynamic. Yeah I was struck by the effectiveness of the mask too. It's surprising how much your skin stands out.
  18. Cheers lads Hi Dave, both very clean rabbits. Just shot in the head hence the eye bulging
  19. Bit of footage from last night. Only a small bag and very windy but worth a walk out
  20. Check out the Vortex line of scopes, I love the PST I have on my. 223
  21. A predator decoy over a dead corvid should do the trick! Establish a decent hide and you'll have cracked it
  22. I use a little owl decoy over a dead magpie/crow to good effect. In fact I recently posted a brief video in the rimfire section
  23. Cheers CC. Yes it was my brother that was with me. The first time he's seen how a decoy works. I think the smoke may have been more visible due to the lighting in the building
