  1. Very interesting. What's the max range and how far can you spot with it at night using the onboard IR?
  2. Not a lot of recoil with the .223 Dan which is why I like it. I do like being able to see the bullet hit the target and I can nearly just do that with my .223
  3. Tony Belas introduces the all new Daystate Pulsar:
  4. I don't know where abouts in Lancashire you are but I could recommend Stephen J Fawcett in Lancaster. Good gunsmith
  5. Knew you wouldn't be disappointed Wish I could've kept hold of it myself. Great shooting, perfect tool for the job!
  6. Nothing a set of thermals and a nice warm flask won't sort out Simon?
  7. It seems to be! They all seem taken which isn't a suprise really. It is very clicky too, nobody seems willing to take you out despite being able to do the same elsewhere in return When I get some more time I think I'll knock on a few farms and offer some vermin control in the hope of it leading to other permissions.
  8. That's not too bad, especially if you take the carcas and around 45mins from me. Do they supply the rifle?
  9. I've read great things about the Howa's, made in Japan to a very high standard. Only critisism I've heard is that the stocks need to be upgraded due to excessive 'flex'
  10. Which Howa, is it really cheaper than this? http://www.czub.cz/e..._SYNTHETIC.aspx How much are these Deker? The Howa's can be had new for aa little as £495
  11. Thanks chaps, I may end up doing that if I can't gain any more permission locally. The area where I live has lots of beautiful countryside, estates and farms. Should be full of deer if only I could get some land to shoot on!
  12. Anyone know of any opportunities? Really fancy giving it a go and would love to tag along and get a flavour of it I have a .223 conditioned for Scottish Roe, tagged along for one stalk and drew a blank. I have a slot for .243 specifically for Deer but very rarely see any on the land. I'd consider part exchanging the .223 for a .243 if I enjoy the sport but wouldn't mind some more experience under my belt to find out if it's for me Thanks in advance Elliott
  13. Sorry pal, I didn't register with your username for some reason! How you getting on with the HMR? How much do you want to spend on a scope for the rimmy? If I could afford it I'd get another Vortex for my .22LR, maybe 2.5-10x44: http://www.riflecraft.co.uk/products/viper-pst-25-10x44-with-ebr-1-mrad-illuminated-reticle-105.aspx
  14. Here's the review. Due to time constraints it turned out to be a short overview of the scope Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
  15. Very true charlie, I have both. The pro staff is miles ahead and not prone to whiteout like MTC I agree with the above, I'd suggest the MTC scopes are ok for rimfire and air rifles but I wouldn't put one on my centrefire rifle. I had the MTC Viper on my HW100KT and it also suffered with 'white-out' in certain lighting conditions, namely at dusk when the sun is low - usually when you need them most! If you can afford it, stretch the budget a bit and buy something better
  16. Bought one a few weeks ago and really enjoying it so far. Couple of minor niggles but I'm hoping to do a full review over the next few weeks. In the meantime I knocked together a trailer for the review, just for fun like
  17. Completely agree Moxy, I love the look of my bog standard CZ452 and would only change the stock if it gave comfort / performance benefits. As I get older I've started to appreciate the original factory look of quite a few rifles and moved well away from any 'bling'.. I did exactly the same with cars!
  18. All depends on what you want to do. I recently bought a Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50 I'll zoom out to x24 mag if I misjudge the target distance and count how many MRAD I need to adjust the scope by on the follow up shot. It's nice to see the bullet holes at 200 yards to find out how your group is shaping up. I'll probably leave the scope on x12 mag for general use but it's nice to have a bit of versatility
  19. Walshie, I'm sure mine holds five at a squeeze!
  20. The plastic chair has been shot more times than I care to remember
  21. Bought a Tikka T3 Varmint .223 with the HMR proceeds. Been shooting it over the weekend with my new Vortex Viper scope: First Test: Vortex Viper PST 6-24x50:
  22. Here you are: 17HMR - Dishonest 200 yard performance:
