  2. Great vid, and good camera work - you can see the pellet impact, perfect shot placement

  5. Looks like an awesome piece of kit - I've always had a soft spot for the Rapids, especially the MK2 and MRF's. What's the accuracy like, can you post any pics of targets? Never had the chance to have a go with one or actually see how it shoots. ATB
  6. Here's a couple of pics of my .22 HW100 and .22 HW77K
  7. Thanks secretagentmole, I have chairgun and fed my chrono details into that to form the mapped mil dots on my Viper, which is supposed to be a true mildot at x10 magnification. The clarity of the Viper far outweighs my 3-9x40 Map 6 that I had on my HW100 previously, but isn't 'as compatible' with the software as the Hawke, for obvious reasons. I think a good session on a calm day and I'll be able to map my own but the data from chairgun has given me a head start just not as accurate as I'd hoped
  8. Nice shooting Daz, and nice looking Rapid Mk2 ATB
  9. Thanks villaman, that's my worry to be honest. I think I'll stick with what I know and stay with the .22, just need to really get to grips with my aim points past 35 yards. I know I can pull the shots off if condtions are perfect and I'm confident in my set up. I did a quick video a few months ago and put up on YouTube just for the hell of it. My maximum hunting distance in perfect conditions with a bipod is 50 meters - I always set this limit for myself and use a laser range finder before taking the shot, but since I changed to AA Filed I really need to do some more experimenting and calc
  10. I was using the dip in the field. That snap was taken by my dad when he joined me on a shoot. He's a very keen ornithologist and good with a camera. The photo was taken just before I dropped a 35 yard bunny and at the time I didn't realise there was another one in the field behind, it was a good 60 yards away. Just waiting for the fields to be bailed on that shoot and I'll be back targeting the rabbits. The permission is only around 6 acres but borders a golf club and railway embankment.. golf course + railway embankments = rabbit heaven! ATB
  11. Like others have said - don't sell your gear, store it away until you feel the bug coming back. I had exactly the same experience, I lost interest a few years ago and left my rifles at the farm, went through college, met my missus etc etc, then one day I bought Airgun Shooter from WHSmiths and here we are again! Still glad I kept hold of my rifles and now I've added another to my collection! If you really feel the need to shed your equipment I'll be more than happy to 'look after' the Air Ranger?! You can have it back when you start to get the bug again.. honestly!
  12. Thanks chaps, looking like .22 is still popular with the hunters, never had any trouble knocking over the bunnies with my .22 HW100 but I find myself getting fixated with mil dots and chairgun.. possibly a .177 would make things a bit easier . This is what I stick to the side of my .22 HW100 when I'm out shooting bunnies. Its from chairgun, based on x10 magnification (true mil dots for my MTC Viper) I find it accurate up to 35 yards, but need to do some experimenting at further distances. Missed a 42 yard bunny last weekend, conditions and shot execution were perfect but the pellet flew
  13. Now then chaps, not after any sort of banter over which is the best calibre, just what you prefer. I'll be buying a new rifle as soon as I get permission from the misus and am tempted by .177. I have only ever had .22 calibre rifles and am becoming more lured by .177. What I want from a rifle is probably what everyone on this forum wants, something that I can predominantly hunt with, but do a bit of informal plinking too. Yes, this can be achieved with my current set ups but I'm wondering if I'm missing out by only using .22? My rifles are all sub 12ft/lb and I've read on many forums that
