My sister makes me two christmas cakes and one date and walnut cake every year. Love a slice of the christmas cake with a lump of extra mature cheddar. The date and walnut i have blathered in proper butter.

Its not tropical this morning. Doing my crab traps and i think i could snap my fingers off there that cold. Do see black swans on the river though when im in Wadebridge.

Loads of lambs down in cornwall at the moment.[same every year at this time] I was surprised myself the first time i saw them when we moved here from Yorkshire. It brings a premium price on the easter market apparently.

It all depends what you want to aim for and where youre going to fish. Some places and species a 3 or 31/2lb test curve carp rod and a decent fixed spool reel will suffice Others youll need bigger gear.

Ive been up there Jonah its beautiful. We stayed in a little village called arisaig, near mallaig. some cracking spots[,beaches to yourself] out that way. Worth a drive up towards Inverness to see the dolphins in the Moray firth. We did the walk up Ben Nevis, it was a hard slog but the views from certain points are epic. As Scot says weather pleases itself up there. we set off in shorts sweating our nads off and had trousers jumpers and hoodies on at the top, which was covered in snow. My two lads are 33 and 32 and i kiss them when we meet and when we part and i wouldnt have it any other way. To me they are still my kids, I kissed em when they were 2 and i will kiss them when they are 52 if im still here.

Cheers Geth. Caught it where i was telling you about in the camel estuary. Been a few good fish coming out over the last couple of weeks.

No mate only a lower limit, which is currently 42cm. I dont really keep a lot but i was fishing a competition. I caught it just fishing a bog standard running ledger rig. Half a peeler crab on a 4/0 Simple as that really. 20 yd cast into a clear patch between rocks and weed. I always hold the rod when im bassing so i can react immediately when i get a take. Found that i get far more hook ups than if i sit the rod in a rest.
