I wouldn't say i disliked any running dog as long as it was fit for perpose, however the dogs i used to love the collie greyhounds i wouldnt take the chance on one again the mere thought of collie blood these days brings me out in shivers i didnt like the look or thought of the beddys but i have found new respect for them i think never dismiss anything or you could be missing out

Thanks, for the informed response, i geuss there's easy genes to work out and then theres the much deeper stuff ie if you wanted a rough dog put a rough coated dog over your bitch, you would get some rough some smooth then theres the deeper stuff like speed, strike ect mostly it seems to chance but theres ways of getting the odds in your favoure my mate who keeps roller pigeons says he can breed a bird for a color, then breed the birds for the roll by careful selection and time If only dogs was that easy to work out, i hope my next litter turn out well both dogs are out of good lines b

Hi ive been around running dogs all my life and ive had some fair dogs, ive also had some shite, shite ive bred myself from two good runners. but is there anyone on here that knows the facts not theory on genes. I have seen dogs out of the same dog and bitch that have been faster/ slower some rough some smooth ect my question is say the dog you have is faster better than your mates dog, out of the same litter if you breed that to another good dog the best in that litter, does the chance of picking a poorer specimen reduce or would this be any ones guess Is this were line breeding comes

my mate has a rock dog, he will put it in any were mine shafts, cliff face, its not much to look at but its a safe dog i have one of its sons which is even leggy than its mother and it can and will jump he is two and and just starting out, he seems to go in harder than the bitch but he may steady up like its mum my mate is always on the look out for work so if you have a pile in mind pm me next season oh forgot to mention great nose too will find it if its there!

I think the true workers and best dogs are past between friends, my mate had a good dog and i bid him double what he was asking to make sure i got one, having said this one of my best dogs refused to run after a broken toe, i had it filleted she was back to normal must have bin causing her some serious pain

hi all got a text off my keeper mate, he spoted a brood of six grouse the 1st ones this year up in the dales hoping for a bumper year alb

I did think along them them lines, however i do think the greyhound is the ultimate running dog for some reason thats how i see it , i sappose thats whats been installed from a young age, however its a well known fact of high bred vigoure and the majority of these highbrids are proven in the field im sure theres pros and cons for both but im not informed enough to comment

A two pronged reply, my old dog used to hunt like a spaniel in the day and go strait out and back on the lamp even on a miss, but she would work cover if you sent her in, and i used to send her out then turn the lamp off then flick it back on near the quary some times the thing had moved slightly and she would hunt to find it but just new what was wanted of her secondly i dont like dogs that show aggression towards other dogs its a nightmare, it could be the result of many reason some of which could be the owners fault a nervous dog could show aggression towards others, i would choose the

MY mate has a broody bantam, but it came off the eggs mid sit so dont want to risk that, he has another hen thats gone broody but i dont know if its his husbandry to blame, the egss i have i wont get again so dont want to waste them, there fresh how long will they last, there in a egg box in my caravan in the garden no heating on, ive been told to just turn the box over everyday

Yes wakey born and bred, merlin eve was mentioned in the make up of this dog ive bin offered but that line was that long ago how would you know a lad on here has a dog wich is close to merlin but its 11 now

ANYONE heard of the white man and cassie was offerd a dog with them dogs one side d red on the other also the max dog is 400 a stud so i was told by the sounds of it worth the money
