  2. he hasn't been back out as he just got a new job and its split into 3 shifts -pity because I enjoyed my couple sessions out with him --money is tight at moment so he had to take the job . thanks for asking moxy -billy

  4. the dog in above pic was from a cattle farm and was fearless and produced some cracking 1st x collie whippets and greyhound 1st x,s
  5. great post this [not one slagging comment!] I no longer work lurchers but as lads we used collie curs to mooch about and we always came home with something to show off they had bottle [something we liked about them ] most were great little guard dogs -no scrapping amongst them they worked as a team from ratting to rabbitting to pinching a few pheasants lol I think when im done with the spaniels im having a pure collie for company as I find them to be a cracking versatile dog

  7. 2-3 keep it simple/enjoyable I always end retrieving with me retrieving last dummy and making dog stay /watch
  8. its far from being to late pal maybe start now and hopefully dog will master it in a month or so I stop mine on every walk I do 1st few where hopeless but it doesn't take long for springers to pick up commands -good luck

  11. if you can hit the head on any quarry pellet choice is meaningless mate I find woodies drop stone dead if hit in centre of back [if you cant get a clear head shot] -I use accupels .22

  13. I personally don't work lurchers but can see no harm in working a beating dog along side one -billy
  14. keeper mate I know had a very poor return on pheasants 2000 put down 650 ish shot -weather played a major part in it he was told that he is no longer needed now --poor bugger ---he is a bloody hard working keeper too

  18. hi stuart ive just bought the same scope & was wondering what distance you zeroed them in on the rapid -I have to admit there a bit overkill for air rifle [hunting] but clarity is 2nd to none and like you I got mine at a bargain mind you I could see them being very useful for target shooting
