  5. with cloud cover a bit patchy last night I ventured out ,not really expecting to see much but in 3 hrs I only fired 11 shots and accounted for a few more corvids -woodies seem to be paired up so they will get "some" respite from me ,no such luck for corvids though
  6. all bandits are wary around here -they need to be lol -well done mark
  7. cheers lads -just watched footage of trial camera and fox took the lot -I should have had branches cut away from near camera as they must have triggered sensor without any wildlife on screen -just learning though -billy
  8. I give all the birds to lads with ferrets and a few to a young lad with harris hawk but these have been placed in a quiet spot with my trial camera set in place
  9. do you lads not have a lot of corvids around your neck of woods? plenty up here and no matter how many bandits I kill I will never wipe them out -- once the leaves fill the trees up that's my night time sorties over for a long time so I get on with it on every opportunity I can
  10. well done to man & dog -cant beat the satisfaction of dog sitting waiting for you to drop something then sending it out to retrieve it -all hard work pays off in the end

    .20 V,s Crows

the rifle is running at 11.7 lbs and young craig probably dropped the longest shot approx. 40yds in a hell of a wind my longest shot ever was 60 + yds using mk2 iin .22 cal [jackdaw] but must add in perfect conditions off a farmers chimney -billy -cheers for replies lads and I do miss a few now and then lol
  16. oooooohh I see this thread overtaking "sunderland afc season " lol -before anyone says owt everything overtakes sunderland
  17. ------out again on Thursday night to a large private garden that was being used as a bit of a crow roost . took craig and dogs along for company and as soon as I pulled into driveway I could see a good few crows bouncing around on tops of large trees -rifle was out bag in a flash and 1st crow spiralled to floor ,koda was on it and back in my hand in a few seconds ,the rest had flown a few trees away so dogs on leads we quietly edged down the driveway and as I lined another bird up craig give me a nudge to point at a lone bandit tucked against a tree trunk so rifle lowered crosshair
  18. don't mind feeling a bit "cxnt" now and then
  19. a lads spaniel was present when a terrier team came to clear rats around pheasant pens I was gobsmacked at its ferocity on rats and boy what a "marker" I use spaniels myself and both are very soft mouthed but one caught a squirrel and although he got bitten he dispatched it like a seasoned terrier lol
