  1. Just make sure you have plenty of patience mate, hopefully you won't need it. Take a spade with you aswell, if it comes to the wosrt case scenario and he's laid up you'll be able to fill the holes and go back the following morning.
  2. They aren't that healthy they're dead. Well done Tomo, lined up immaculatley as usuall.
  3. My eldest decided to try ferretring local today instead of cycling an 8-10 mile round trip to get to his usuall grounds. The only thing with that is there are very few rabbits about locally. Not long after he'd left his youngest brother Brodie and I took Blue a walk out to see how Dylan was getting on. The first bury he had done was empty, the second was a 4 holer. Dylan netted up then put the polecat jill down, we heard a bit of noise from below ground then nothing. 15 minutes passed and still there was no sign of anything so he put the albino jill down. Shortly after a rabbit pursed the

    any ideas??

Don't think you'll find out anything about the dog on Flappersdream and greyhound data will only have the earmarks of the dog if someone has registered them on that forum. Your best bet would be to give the Greyhound Stud Book a ring, here's a link below. http://www.greyhoundstudbook.co.uk/

  9. To a saluki the pups would be 3/4 saluki 1/8 grey 1/8 bull.. To a sal/grey the pups would be 1/2 saluki 3/8 grey 1/8 bull. But as others have said they could turn out all different.
  10. 1/4 saluki 3/9 bull 2/5 grey 1/8 banned text
  11. You need to say how the bitch is bred mate, eg is she saluki x bull/grey or bull x saluki/grey or grey x saluki/bull? I wonder who will be the first to answer lurcher.
  12. How do you know he's eating the rabbit Jimmy? Have you dug down to him and found partly eaten rabbits? no bud, he is coming out with lots of rabbit fur on his claws and blood all over his face Sounds like he's doing what he's supposed to. The rabbits aren't bolting so the ferret is working them, scratching away at them untill he gets into a position to deliver that fatal bite, hence the reason he's coming out with fur on his claws and blood on his face. You've got to remember the ferret doesn't go down the bury with the intention of bolting the rabbits out [that's what
  13. Matching is a load of ++++++ ,as there are far to many variables .Dog A could be as fast as fook .Dog B could be as nimble as fook .Now lets take this scenerio Dog A+B are both running legitimate quarry Dog A runs like fook and turns the quarry into the path of dog B,who catches the quarry .We could have the second scenerio,Dog B runs the quarry ragged into the jaws of Dog A .Now who is the winner of this so called matching??.Many scinetific field reports ,claim that two dogs running on the same quarry hold up to 20%of their ability back, for fear of a collision .Now unless your matchin
  14. Good write up and pics mate, I have to say that's some dig you had there.

  21. What length are those nets if they are 24 meshes long...????? SINDASOX on a 2"meshboard 48" or a 21/4" mesboard 60" Y.I.S Leeview Would a 2 1/4" meshboard not give you a length of 54" at 24 meshes.
  22. There won't be any Hancock in her mate, as has been said already she was bred by Typp Ratcher who has his own line. Don't think the lad has her now as I came across this the other day. http://jacksshed.myf.../sutra57631.php
  23. As has already been said they're floating ribs, if you do a google search you'll be able to read up on them.
  24. I would say that he'll be nearer his right weight now than he was before as 48lb seems light for a 26" dog bred that way. You confuse me a bit though, in your first post you say "he seems very fit" but on a later post you say he "seems to pull up quicker but he is f****d easier than before." 24lb is a lot of weight to put on in 3 weeks, now that you've got him weighing more it's time to work on his fitness, I'd guess that as you work him more he'll probably lose a few pounds and then you'll find out what his running weight is. All dogs are different some run better with a bit of weig
  25. The first ferreting book I got was "The ferret and ferreting guide" by Graham Wellstead, it done the job.
