  1. The pup you kept back would that be Tyke?
  2. Piggins dogs were certainly gutchcommon bred and if you research the early rillington lines as you say there are gutchcommon dogs in the peds.
  3. Thinking about piggin he also had another stud but i could not remember its name thats why im not 100% what the greyhound bitch was put to.i have asked the other dog was Jasper of kentene.
  4. They do for me much more freedom in them days.
  5. i could not say 100% hand on heart but if i was a betting man i would say that was the stud used.
  6. i dont think ive talked to anyone who had a beddy of him. In 1984 a local fella took a greyhound bitch to be lined off his dog that was used at stud and my old mate got one of the pups. To date its still the best mooching dog i have watched.
  7. Rillington was a kc prefix for georges bedlingtons and lakelands, Piggins dogs kc reg was eakring.
  8. For me the working herding types especially the old type bearded collie.
  9. Fantastically gifted boxer.
  10. My experience is the opposite of gnippers but it was nearly 30 years ago,A bombproof temperament a workhorse a real tryer. A half bred beardy/grey.
  11. Liver bedlingtons are born dark brown.
  12. Not a good experience by any means but you live and learn. Good luck with your search.
  13. ive never bred nor let a dog out for stud.5 a decent age for me for a dog that ticks all the boxes and a good temperament is paramount.
  14. Sire collie/grey x collie/grey x 3/4grey/1/4 collie. Dam 3/4 saluki 1/4 grey x whippet/grey.
  15. ive had a few lurchers from the 80s this bitch was head and shoulders above the others.
  16. First class he is going to be a cracking little dog for you.
  17. My mistake and apologies put it down to age ? i had it in my head Taffy was 1/8 instead of a 1/4 beardy. I dont know of my dog being the exception to the rule ive talked to a good number of people who had pups out of the muirhead dog remus and they were pleased. Maybe the original stud richard jones was the root of temperament peculiarities you experienced.. But we wont argue im too long in the tooth and old.We can only express our own opinions and experiences.?
  18. i know someone who has worked Beardies for years and still does. ive had a look at the odd ped he has and the odd border collie pops up now and then in the lines through a 6 gen ped.
