    my memory is coming back. i have got a signed copy. but it is some years since i read it. it is mainly his life story growing up in cumbria. mainly deals with salmon poaching. worth a read something different.

    fair play to you.good luck.if you go ferreting i would let her get to some in the net first. if not i would be starting her in spring on some nice easy young rabbits.let her build her confidence up. she is still a young dog. plenty of time.

    had a beardy cross myself out of remus in 1989. made a decent rabbit dog day/night. also caught a decent number of hunted up hares. a dog with a real good temperament also.

Darbo, years ago I went to the one and only lurcher show in my town, i arrived late, and there was a lad packing up to go home, he had a pen with three pups, and had the Bedlington and the Whippet with him, he came from Ayr, I cant remember what the breeding was, only that the sire and dam worked rabbits, i paid £15 for her, the best money i have ever spent, She caught Hare, rabbits, pheasant, duck, rats, and stoat.     hope he does well for you.i know you got him from hancocks but what is the breeding % grey border beardie ? if you dont mind me asking. atb. i saw the dog advertised as lurcher x lurcher. i thought hancock only used greyhounds as dams or was it a misprint or otherwise?

    the first fight with milton mccory was a draw second mccory won. fought don curry after went to that fight in birmingham. got stopped with a bad cut to the bridge of his nose think it was the fourth round. a tough hard fighter jones with a big left hook.

    I wouldn,t bother darbo, as you know I have one but I knew what I was getting, when I,m out ferreting on really cold days I reckon i,ll be leaving the wee one in the house and taking the much more hardy collie cur, I don,t think its fair on a thin coated dog standing about for hours on bitterly cold days Don,t get me wrong, fantastic wee dogs for mooching, lamping, ferreting etc, only downside as far as I can tell imo is a thin coated dog standing about for hours when its bitterly cold I don,t like the idea of, if you,re going to be doing alot of ferreting I would recommend something with

    i will take the advice on board kr :thumbs:i have never had a whippet. always collie crosses and saluki lurcher cross collie lurchers.some people who i have talked to say they can stand the cold. but thanks for the honest advice.
