my dad was a black powder gun man. he would mix his own powder. one year he made a banger from a very large tube which held thick string. then powder was placed in, then cut the ends off the broom (mum wasn't to happy) to plug the ends. fuse was made. nov 5th came ( great) he placed it near the fence lit the fuse...... we waited then BOOM like a thunder flash, but sadly no window left in his shed.......

sadly i remember the toy bombs..... but we upgraded to large nuts and bolts with washers. sandwiched between the washers were swan match heads wrapped in tin foil . then thrown in the air and onto the road. they did make a loud bang......

i've had chickens at my council house for over 25yrs, had cockerels as well... but got a visit one day asking about the noise... they saw the hens etc and said thats a nice tidy house and run, but you can't keep a cockerel. so i said that i would have to ring his neck then.. the look on the ladies face was horrific she said don't do that i know a farmer who might have it, what type is it? well it was a buff orpington. 2 days later get a phone call farmer's wife yes i will take him please... she calls round next day takes the boy and gives me £10. she had been trying to ge

just read this thread, your daughter is a big credit to you. she looks very happy and enjoying herself. the ferret looks in great shape to. nice to see the youngsters have a hobby than stuck on a ipad etc etc. all the best for you and her. well done on all the trophies
