  1. darbo, that's brilliant, hens are funny to watch at times......
  2. i see to my hens most of the time i'am at home (now retired) in all my time with chickens never known any not to go broody, and my favorites were orpingtons, big birds as they are if i had 8 hens 4 would go broody and all try and get in the same nest box. was that a funny sight to see ?
  3. that's news to me.. had chickens for years and all types, which have gone broody, more now as i have lots of feather-leg bantams.....

  6. i thought it was between the interested parties. ie you and a couple in the colchester area? then the council just checked both parties agree and that's it.... swap away my cousin once did that just looked on the exchange register ?????
  7. i.am not clued up on this but can't you do a mutual exchange with any council and people who want to move to your area. here you could many years ago do a mutual exchange anywhere in the country if both councils and tenants agreed !!! just a thought!!!! could say you need to because of your health....

  10. yes i know about that method, we would fill our ammo parade boots with water and plod round in them until they dried out then the bulling started... i'am too old to walkabout with wet boots on now

  17. many thanks shortstraw, i will have a look at there site's. i have tried precise it came with another catty i bought.... i thought it was good stuff, but could not find any small rolls for sale... i don't like the price of pre-cut bands
  18. got 2 metres of tbg on order ... should be here in morning!!!! the bands it came with seem good but the pouch is very small like you said. i will put one on the bands to try them out... how would you fit the tubes greyman? ott or ttf ????
  19. bought this off aliexpress, arrived this morning. ordered on the 10 april.... grand total of £7.89 seems ok. has a nice weight. yet to try it. only thing the pouch seems very small for me. bands feel good. makers name is she-shou...who i think makes the bands as well not sure of the tubes though....

  21. i often make brawn from the head also split it an roast half on a rack its bloody lovely.....
  22. my dad and nan use to get sheeps heads for us to eat.. made a great type of lamb hot pot. just like to know why you can't buy them now... yet can get pigs heads from my butcher for £3.00
