  1. collie x beddie/whippet 19" good little mooching cur,
  2. Oops, sorry.......I didn't mean to imply yours did it for for the same reason......., Bleeding collie x owners. We are more sensitive than our dogs!
  3. I have tried to move on from them collie x's before Andy, but I have never been able to turn my back on them.
  4. funny old dogs collies. I've been around 'em all my life. But despite having had a few myself, each full collie has driven me potty. yet none of my collie x's or collie curs have been in the same catagory. Yes they can have a few quirks, but a collie put to a good lurcher (with or without collie in its make up) can make a damn fine hunting dog. Not a courser by any stretch of the imagination, but a dog capable of finding, catching and killing on even the roughest of ground. They are not for everybody, but have always kept me fed and happy
  5. Chances of me seeing a swallow on Mothers day are virtually nil. Usually have to wait till Father's Day in these parts!
  6. Get a proper one on one lesson. I could spend hours giving tips on line, but without seeing you shoot a number of targets I would be pissing in the wind
  7. There are too many variables to say. Such as distance, speed of clay, angle of clay. the there is the speed of your swing and the speed off your shot. To be honest, its down to practice and feel.
  8. no body can answer that question. unless you're fishing!
  9. out of interest, how far from 100% did you go before you went to the dark side?
  10. Must admit, mines as miserable as sin if the weather turns for the worse and we ain't moving something about!
  11. What hight it stand at trench 22" on a cold day. 24KG working weight. will run well at less, but burns out very easy
  12. I have a line bred 1/2 x in my team. Heart of a lion. Will run a line like a hound. Takes knocks very well. if he goes into a wood after sommat, he will find it. Capable of mugging most things, but Course and catch it in the open.........
  13. That depends for unemployed, retired or under 18's that could be the increase that prices them out of the market. As I said, if the HO wanted to increase fees, then it would have been better if they'd given something back in return such as a 10 yr duration (which also takes the pressure off FEO's / departments as well) 5 years is fine by me. mental state can change far quicker than that. as for cost, over 5 years, another £7.60 a year max increase is an increase worth swallowing if they dont change the rules
  14. Its not rocket science. Its your dog, and if YOU think its under weight, feed it more than you are. if its running to your satisfaction, then feed it the same If you are looking for "answers", At 13 months, it looks a touch underweight, but don't look like its been run proper "twice a week"
  15. Swear at colleagues then you end up out of a job. But If he was fiddling with little kids nobody would say a dicky bird!
  16. Put some heavy duty gear in matey. They will bite through standard chicken/rabbit mesh..... Its on back order http://www.mcveighparker.com/content/otter-universal-fencing-xht19-180-5-premium-wire Its a b*****d to work with, but the rates are good
  17. I've put a fair bit of badger fencing in for folk over the last few years. But in the last few months I've had 3 calls to put otter fencing up. 2 on fisheries and one on a chicken unit. I didn't even know we had them local. I spent an hour or two down the banks of my local river/stream and they are definitely there. Once you start looking, the signs are there
  18. worst thing to happen to Top Gear, was it being shown on Dave 4 times a day.
  19. Here you go w uyang, pointer x saluki bull grey I fancy putting that dog over one of my Airedale lurchers; keep the nose, good coat and feet etc, plus biddability. true but would it level out the structural "failings" of the airedale x? Not looking for an argument Penny, just genuinely interested
  20. Is flyball hard on a dogs wrists? A lot of the collies on there had theirs bandaged up. If so a whippet would suffer I think think thats for dew claws
  21. Only problem with fly ball is that it always seems noisy. last thing you want in your worker is one that yaps and screams when held up
