  1. Bryn looks like he could have been sired by our collie!
  2. more rabbits than we've had for a good while around here, but hares do seem to have struggled this year.
  3. Its all too easy to let sheep be rustled. Some of the lads up here have resorted to running around the lanes with telehandlers and such like. There have been a few livestock traillers weighed in
  4. cross it with a saluki, and you might just get one that brings the mutton home
  5. if its all out weatherproof smock, you are after, there is only one in my opinion. Swedteam. Not loaded with pockets, but mine has coped with everything the north of europe has thrown at it. day in day out on hill farms. When the weather turns sh#te, its the one I put on as I know I can rely on it to do its job.
  6. There are none on there that I would use. Locally and online from French suppliers the only traps supplied are scaled up versions of the 'Little Nipper' i.e. those wooden base ones. Certainly not as user friendly as the T-Rex type mentioned above. Thanks anyway. one of those big nipper types should fit in a bait box. Or make your own box
  7. Dan, did you ever get anywhere with your search for a collie x lurcher?
  8. Chicken manure is great, but we also have plenty of pig manure here. All straw free. I'd only use horse manure if its from horses on untreated paddocks. It affects root veg
  9. Def not up! My walking/work boot size is a 8 and my Aigle Iso Parcour 2 are a 6!! Size six! don't go out when its windy, you'll blow over
  10. And probably a pound or two heavier than that
  11. Yeh I liked mine when I first had them,,,very comfy and warm,,,but I disagree on the support bit,,,they are a very soft rubber,,,with little ankle support .... Mine also split,,on both Welles where the heel ,,joined the upper, after 18 month Mine have been fine Tomo. On my second pair as I wore the soles out. I must admit, that since I started wearing high walking boots, I very rarely wear wellies for any long period. HAd 'em on for a few hours this morning as I've been setting traps around some ponds, and the sweat has disolved my feet
  12. Aigle Iso Parcour 2. Bit warm at this time of year, but bloody comfy with good foot support for a welly
  13. Tomo, its just a big, modern knocking box, only for lurchers, not ferrets
  14. Why have a dog, and run yourself?! Just the way it should be
  15. I must admit to having set a magnet up at the far end of a big field of wheat, near Rufforth when they have been spooky to the magnet, then set a pattern and hide up at the other end. It pushed the flightline a good 200 yards. And away from the road. Had a cracking days sport. As I said useful things to have at times
  16. I wouldn't be without it. Very breathable and no leaks at all. Been in all sorts of weather. only negatives are the fact that the outer does hold water on the surface, and you need to shake it off on a regular basis, and the handwarmer pockets didnt have zips. The tweed version is a better material than the plain colours, as it doesnt go baggy.
  17. I have a Nomad tweed/fleece jacket and trousers if thats the one you mean?
  18. thats because the poor bugger thinks you're trying to re-patriate it!
  19. I lived in Yorkshire up until 6 years ago and had great results with a magnet. The results do diminish if they are over used in the one place, and they are not as effective as they first were. But as a piece of kit, they are worth having. Timmy, don't ask me what make it is. I've had it nigh on 20 years and cant remember.
  20. your only jealous of the fact that collie x's have more nose than you Impossible................ Aye, you're probably right!
  21. your only jealous of the fact that collie x's have more nose than you
  22. How could you do such a thing Trenchfoot,...I've seen men flogged for far less Personaly,..as a determined hunting canine,...the Saluki is something else,...and its influence over a lurcher hybrid,.is enormous....The dogs that I used to work,..nightly,..(.almost every suitable night),...were heavily Saluki blooded..... In fact, considering the fact that we only freelanced locally ,...they used to bag up a fair amount of game during the course of the two week moon phase....They were the right tool for the job,...at that point in time.... Nowadays,..I lead a quiet and sedate life,..
