  1. Must be using a bore laser jobby, or bore sighting, on a good day i can get within a inch and a half with the latter, but would never fork out the kind of money they want for the former.
  2. Worlds No 1 mole catcher, bar none. Good at making money and even better at spending it, Excel with a rifle, but not so good with a scattergun, Very Very good at turning expensive fermented water into a bi product.
  3. Some wise words there from Rolfe, the only thing i would add is make sure you allow for extra time, as for him being a poor farmer with 400 acres of dairy, i dont think so, especially now they are finally getting a fair price per litre at long last. Just remember to remind him that if he is making grass silage it is worth around £30 a tonne to him and it only takes one good mole hill to ruin that amount, false economy not to get the moles sorted before harrowing and rolling. Then you also have the fact that listeria will kill a good high yeilding cow quick as you like if not caught in time, d
  4. Would not worry about it too much mate, it is a job that has to be done, probably a bit much of an emotive subject for a forum like this though. And the other thing that springs to mind is people who live in glass houses shouldnt throw stones, especially if they have put up a few posts that were how shall we say, erring on the rediculous. Regards MT.
  5. places to shoot, im into rabbit shooting, pigeon shooting, pheseant shooting, rat shooting, starling shooting, and squirell shooting, Dont want to be funny, but you dont shoot Starlings anymore it is illegal, they were taken off the general open licence about two years ago. Regards MT. PS, just out of curiosity, what on earth made you make a move like that. All the best with your search for ground.
  6. Stubby, never ceases to amaze me how fast the stinkers can move when they want to, had many a good course through the undergrowth pursuing an errant ferret hell bent on making it to the next county. How you getting on with the squirrel job, making inroads yet. Regards MT.
  7. Woodga you the man, putting up some brilliant interesting threads again with great pictures, so refreshing to see, so much better than the mindless drivvle this great forum seems to be suffering from at the moment. All the best to you mate, MT.
  8. Thanks Magwitch, i am well and truly on the mend now, have been out and about on the moles, even been up your neck of the woods last Thursday, coming up again tomorrow, but not as far across, Polesden lacey and Sheffield park. Vader, my Archer cost £1700 for the C grade it is fairly good once they finally got it sorted, need to speak to them again though as it keeps going dim, change all the batteries etc, give it a shut off for a while and it is still the same, makes me mad as hell. You go out a couple of nights later and it is fine and stays working.
  9. Got to be said stupid feckin questions like this about illegal activities will do none of us any good, this is a forum open to anyone and is scrutinised for shite just such as this to be used against us.
  10. Nice job Magwitch, what is the music ?, sounds a bit clanad, ish. Hoping to get out this week with Dytkos, weather is not to promising by all accounts though.
  11. Ditchy, Trappa is not quite correct, the traditional mole trappers register IS £75 to join, but it has nothing to do with selling pelts, i have not joined, but they occasionaly still e mail me with jobs that come in through their web site, these are generally anywhere in devon or cornwall. Admitadly for the most part the leads have been a bit of a waste of time, the people are just looking for someone local to give them advice, one of the jobs was a goer, but she was already one of mine but had lost my card. The chap who owns it is a nice fella who is ok on a money making idea, but he is bea
  12. Chalky i am a little worried about the gimpy rubber gauntlets mate, had you just come off the night shift. Never ceases to amaze me, the amount of times trapping a nice quiet garden or whatever, you decide it is time to drain the vein and sure as eggs is eggs someone turns up, then it is the clamp of death while you try to wind it back in and look nochelant. I think the wet streak down the trouser leg can be a bit of a give away though.
  13. YAWN, this isnt a Hancock thread, just goes to show the mentality of some people, pick up on one word in a thread about mole catching for a living and feel they need to jump in and gob off about someones dogs they know nothing about. Theres only one word for it, SAD. Geta life pal.
  14. Cheeky monkey, Here you live close enough to my old man why arent you getting in on this mole trapping problem, there does not appear to be anyone covering it, get in there.
  15. Left twenty years ago after giving up milking the old mans cows for him for fifteen quid a week, 7 days a week, he insisted he was doing me a favour. We get on a lot better now i am 5 hours away. Set up down here and now my only way out is to do the same as Moley, i am not quite ready for that yet unless a londoner with money burning a hole in their pocket wants to make me an offer i cant refuse. My old man is always trying to get us to move back over, but it is pretty unlikely. My dogs go everywhere with me, stupid as the Hancock haters may find it they have created so much extra revenue f
  16. All I know is that when one of my dogs appeared to be having small fits but was still conscious, we took her to vets and was told that it was to do with her body not being able to cope with the protien levels in her food. We were at that time giving her 24% mid winter beating and working her socks off, so thought she needed something extra WRONG it was the Carbohydrates she needed rather than protien. Now running very nicely ta on 18% plus rabbits, venison bones, chicken wings etc etc Touch wood since we changed her diet, no more of the fitting behaviour. For those interested enough her con
  17. Just realised my donation has obviously run out! Could someone please remind me how to renew. Thanks
  18. Here is a few that those stripey buggers didnt get the two days leading up to me going into hospital. NO these arent out of the freezer!! "Can always tell those - they have white paws!!!" Wouldnt do anything else
  19. In a shallow run in a mossy lawn deffo a duffus type trap needed, think the others will agree on this one. Regards MT.
  20. daft question..but is there more money in the bed-bugs and domestic work ?or is it it poss to make a decent living in rural work..would love to do rural.. does anyone on here actually make a living doing rural pest control etc etc... i would love to stop doing my present job ASAP. There are a few of us on here making a full time living out of rural and doing ok out of it, BUT and it is a big but, it takes years to get to that stage, in my case 9 years, the early years were very tight. And ditto what DS said, makes me cringe everytime i read " i have ferrets and a cur and some nets, am th
  21. contact moley he,s the pro. moletrapper, now retired from moling Where not worthy, only fu....g with you mate.
  22. Hell this problem is way bigger than i imagined, Moley, would i be right in guessing you charge by the body count if you count them as a loss aswell ?, only reason i ask is that there is a bloke local to me trying to get in on the act at the moment , he is going around all the farms telling the farmers he only charges £10 a mole, the farmers are laughing him off the place, he says that is cheap, they say not when J has been here and had 15-25 out of one field and i have x number of fields. All the best, and hope the new job going well.
  23. i CAN HONESTLY SAY I HAVE NEVER YET FOUND ONE AFTER BROCK HAS TAKEN THEM, I ALWAYS JOKE WITH THE CUSTOMERS THAT IF YOU OPENED UP A BADGER SET YOU WOULD FIND MOLE TRAPS ON THE MANTLE PIECE AS ORNAMENTS. oops sorry about the shouting, cant be arsed to retype.
