Well it is a hunting site, and a very good one at that, and whats more the owner very reasonably asks that we adhere to just a couple of simple rules, like not posting about illegal activities, it is not rocket science. This forum is open to the public and the powers that be, they do not need us to give them help in finding things to shut hunting in all it,s forms down, they are quite capabale of doing it themselves.

Hardly suprising really ! with all the blatant going on in it. At the top of the page it states "No illegal stuff".

A bit of a story & a question
mole trapper replied to Little Butch's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I think I was mixing it up, in my head, with some cellulose based formulation I'd heard of? Or would that indeed be " Eradirat " Probably one and the same ditch, forgot to mention, the stuff is hideously expensive as well. -
A bit of a story & a question
mole trapper replied to Little Butch's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Eradirat is the same as Eradimouse only in a larger format, they are produced from dessicated maize husk mixed with mollases, the product is supposed to stop rodents capability to take on moisture, thereby killing them by dehydration. When it first came out i gave them both a good trial as it sounded a great alternative if customers wanted it. Unfortunatly the rats and mice were not as taken with the sales hype and chose to eat anything bar this product. Regards MT. -
British traditional mole catchers association already started one of these months and months ago, why another one other than to make money ?.

Keep hearing down here about cow boys buying them, over night top pesties according to the farmers, twats i say, cant wait till they get prosecuted. Quick fix merchants with no skills.

Customers who are slow payers, Burglars or thieves of any description, Dole dossers who think they are clever being parasites on the back of the state, Spongers, anyone who cant have the honour to bring up their own urchins and expect the rest of us to pay for them and the useless dross they then also go on to inflict on the rest of society, Immigrants, Car park attendants who think they are god, Yellow pages reps, Yell.com tele sales reps, Part time pesters who go round giving stupid quotes just because they have a full time income already, OH FECK IT, anyone not on the level.

Your welcome mate, keep up the good work.

Cheers Corky, thing is i know how much upset it would cause if you only had a few ferrets and put a lot into them only for some fecker to come along and nick them.

Afew days ago three very tame well cared for working ferrets came into my posession, they were brought down from Taunton area i believe by a couple of blokes in a transit van, after they had their sport they told the land owner that they would not be taking the ferrets home with them so did he know anyone who would want them, if he did not they were going to dump them, long story short i was contacted and took one look at them and took them in. This is a strange tale i know, but anyhow does anyone know of any going missing up that way, if not, they will stay with me and join the mighty hoard,

Advice needed on Mole Traps
mole trapper replied to Tinman's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Tinman, look for my post entitled "when moles strike back" -
MJT, Jamie G is talking sense, also you are right about the 29 grn,s runing at 30 ft/lbs, i gave them a trial on one of my jobs, no good, if you can afford to invest in an FAC air rifle and have the work to justify it i say go for it, just dont get drawn into the idea of well if it,s on ticket might as well have 50- ft/lbs, totally defeats the object. Most of my rabbit clearance is done shooting wise with my two rimmys, but as you say there are places this is too risky, because of this i bought an Air Ranger running at 30 ft/lbs, medium weight quality pellets =flat trajectory between 20- 60

Just caught ! Phsyco hob ferret.
mole trapper replied to mole trapper's topic in Ferrets & Ferreting
Ok everyone settle down, antis reading this stop fiddling with yourselves, the hob is deffinetly NOT a polecat, FPO will put a piccy up later hopefully, she is still out milking so may not be back in time to do it this eve but i do have him on the digi. Went back out to work, when i came back he was a little more subdued, got a bit funny when i moved the cage, this made the young dog bark at him, after this he went very quiet, i have now moved him to a spare hutch. Looking at him i am fairly sure that he is an escapee, hell of a head on him, i know if he has me it will be an A+E job for sure -
Whats your problem as...le, you asked a question you finally got the correct answer, incidently by one of the mods, who just happens to be a legitimate pest controler and you call him a c...t, think maybe you have been looking in the mirror.

For a week or so now i have had something trying to dig under my ferret court in several places, thought first of all thought it may have been a fox after the meat in there, anyway sunday we had a mass escape bid, pointed out to us by the chickens going batshit. We think we caught them all up and checked the pen, where the digging had gone under the wire mesh floor there was a hole bitten through the wire. So last night i put two of my Fenn double ender cage traps tight around the perimiter, well this morning i found a huge hob fitchy, in great condition, but wild, never seen one like this b

mole trapper replied to woodga's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Duckwing, how much would you want for a sack of hardwood snare pegs, ,i am getting proper fed up whittling ash ones as i am doing them by hand and still need to do another 3-4 hundred. Regards MT. -
What a great idea, pay out that much money for a grade C archer and then have to play blue peter to make bushes out of cardboard.

Tomo, , i am not that bad. Well if the guy is that keen who started this thread why not spend £3,500 on advertising each year the same as me, simple. Wellyfish, the answer is put your money where your mouth is simple as that, i have been trading nearly 10 years now, every year we get the part time fly by nights trying to get in on the job, every year we see them fall by the way side. The best form of advertising is WOM, It is free, but only comes from customers who feel they have got good value for money, so dont think about charging until you have built a good reputation for walking the

Is snaring/Trapping Humane?
mole trapper replied to CarlC's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
GOD, designed the system , every day in life some creature or bird dies for another to live , nature is totally ruthless , any sign of weakness results in starvation and death when predators kill , and birds of prey kill they are anything but humane, they act on natural instinct , man on the other hand has the power to think , form solutions, and reason , therefore we as trappers try to be as humane as possible, the problem is the weak nanny state shields modern kids from reality and the hard facts of true life . Never a truer word spoken, well put Snareman. -
Know what you are saying , i dont have a problem helping people out with the physical side of the job,but when you start getting threads asking you to break down your pricing structure, where to buy specialist pest control products etc, these people are just chancers feeding off our backs. I would be the first person to admit that the sort of fantastic advice you so freely give has helped many people myself included, Hopefully the sort of help you give will keep a much underated and often knocked method of control alive and with luck growth of use, albeit responsably. This is what worries me,

One of the places i control the rabbits is hard against the Atlantic, very barren, the rabbits there have extremley yellow/orange fat, they strip the Gorse bare. We make wine out of the gorse from this same farm but the rabbits do not taste like it "unfortunatly".

Ditchy it took me years to get the levels down to where they are today in Ireland.

mole trapper replied to richie's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
AT THIS TIME OF YEAR WE GET MANY DOUBLES FOR OBVIOUS REASONS, BUT I HAVE NEVER CAUGHT A WEASEL, THE ONLY NON TARGET SPECIES I HAVE EVER HAD WAS LAST YEAR, IT WAS A SHREW IN A DOMESTIC HANDKERCHIEF JOB I DID IN SOUTH DEVON. Oops, sorry about the shouting, not intended. Regards MT. -
Sorry to be a bit of a misery here, but seems to me we are on this forum setting rank beginers and dreamers into over night pesties by giving away every detail of the job drip by drip, i learnt the job the hard way over years and years, trial and error etc, but you could sift through previous posts on here and be armed with enough info to start tomorrow. Now dont get me wrong, i have helped a lot of people setting up, who are genuine lads, BUT, there are a lot of numpties on here who arent ever going to make it, but will end up on rogue traders, and to be honest it will be some of our faults.
