  1. I had a bitch some years ago that was lurcher to lurcher bred but had a fair amount of collie blood, she took a belt off an electric fence after running a rabbit and even though I was a distance away from her, she wouldnt come near me for ages and she point blank refused to ever run a rabbit again. She would just stand and let them run, I was gutted as she was a true allrounder and her retrieve was always bang on the money.

  12. Having left it to start the bitch off properly this season (after a disastrous first trip out last February when at 10 months old she caught her first rabbit and promptly devoured it lol). The summer was spent allowing the pup to mature and spending time reiterating her basic training and wow what a difference a few months can make, she has now had around 9 lamping trips out and I have been slowly increasing the amount of slips each time, she has now accounted for 30+ rabbits, this being the biggest bag of 7 last night. She is maturing into a steady hunting companion who runs with real fire in

  20. http://www.thehuntin...__fromsearch__1 Following on from my last post (above) regarding this young bitch I thought I'd give a bit of an update. Following a request from the farmer on one of my permissions Me and my young son headed out with the lamp last night with the two dogs and following what happened back in February I must say I was somewhat a little nervous. After the setback in February, the little black bitch was left in the kennel when there was any hunting to be done and I went back to basics regarding her basic obedience and retrieving. Having parked in the yard we set out
