  3. I use a plastic 5ml medicine spoon with a small 'V' cut in the end, you just slide this under the tick as close to the dogs skin as you can get and then gently lever the tick out, removes the whole tick quickly and easily

  11. hi Ady , well done on her first of many mate , as above dont worry its only going to get better ,she should grow out of it took mine last night aswell , run 2 caught 1 and fetched it straight back passed me and gave it to me mate dont worry mate , shes still only young bud atb Fezz Cheers mate , had her out today retrieving and she was spot on, had her fetching back over fences and ditches, so yeah Im fairly confident she'll come good in the end.   13. Thanks for the replies guys its restored my confidence somewhat that maybe its just a puppy thing and that with a bit of extra training and work it will sort itself eventually, wouldnt of been so bad but as soon as she caught it I was planning a rabbit curry
  14. Tried the walking away and there was no way she was gonna follow me, shes been trained with a whole variety of items including rabbit skin dummies and no shes never been fed rabbit. Just couldnt understand it , during exercise her obedience is superb and shes been a real joy

Well took my pup out for a quick shine tonight it was only her second outing as she is only 10 months old, anyway everything had gone ok she'd had a few runs and had returned immediately as soon as she'd missed and apart from catching had done everything spot on. So now to the problem... last field I pick a rabbit for her and slip her, so far so good,after several turns she catches her first ever rabbit(I was over the moon) but that is where the problem came, not only did she not retrieve it even though she has been taught to retrieve since she was 8 weeks old and has very rarely faltered,afte
