  1. Another reason i did,nt want to put another Fell over the Fell,Marshman,is she was bred from digging dogs, she herself is better suited to bolting than digging to,putting her back to the Fell would have given an higher percentage of producing diggers. The Beddy dog is also a bolting dog, thus a better chance of producing bolters.I work a lot of places that are un-diggable,massive rock piles and quarry slides, the working characteristics of the Beddy/Fell combo is better suited to this type of fox control.Nothing is guaranteed with any breeding,it pays to tip the percentages in your favour with a l
  2. Get yourself a Fell and save the hassle of wading through the Beddy minefield,to many join the WBF and want a pup yesterday,if they are not offered one straight away they start to gripe.Working Bedlingtons are frequently advertised, yet are rarely bred, thus the amount of dross about now,if it says KC run quickly away,if it says bred from workers buy some earplugs and only trust what the eyes tell you.The best options are the hybrid Beddy/Fells,not a dog for some purists, but a better reflection of the original Beddy,in type and character.
  3. The versatility of the Bedlington is its main attribute, the best bushing/bolting dog ive seen at work was a Bedlington,Fell/Lakey,s are a useful mutt, they lack the athleticism of the Beddy and its more laid back nature,at times. The Bedlington infusion makes for a more versatile terrier,i run Bedlingtons and Fells as a pack, each as its merits over the other, the combination of both taps into the desirable traits in each.Ive a couple of dogs here Beddy/Fells,at 11 months old they are looking more promising than anything ive had before, the coming season will push them towards their potential, hopef
  4. Easy Marshman, breed the best grafter to grafter to obtain the youngster that will best suit the individual hunting lifestyle,in my case i wanted a litter out of my Fell bitch,i know of several dogs that would have been useful to cover her with, the dog best suited to my hunting requirements was a Beddy, thus the Beddy/Fell combo.
  5. You seem the sort that would cut himself on a sharp crayon, weres the charcoal?.
  6. RM2508,i see a little pish is lost on you,not the sharpest knife in the drawer perhaps, ill draw cartoon pics for you next?.
  7. Sika have always been pish?,a good fallow would have made a stew and rug out of mutton.
  8. Used to attend Whippet racing at the back of the Brown Cow in Bingley and at a couple of meets in Barnsley, early ,s,some honest hunting and running machines about then that started a kennel or two, started off with whippets and managed to fall out of love with them, until the mush on here with his posts,a few about now.
  9. The best thing about Scottish football is,its played well away from the heartland of good honest English footie, the elite competition is the Premiership were you can watch,if you mortgage the house, the cream of English players, well Italians,Spanish,French,Portugese,African,Brazilians, not the wags,Swedes,Hondurans,Greeks,Turks etc.,etc.,even the odd overpaid and overhyped Englishman, what as Scottish football, played by Jocks, got to offer?.
  10. Did you ever beat one samba?.
  11. The majority of Golden and Lady Amethyst pheasants are mongrelised between them,as they readily interbreed they need keeping apart.Ive kept and bred many pheasant species,Goldens and Lady A,s are easy to keep and breed, basically a chicken diet and accomadation, with a roof on.
  12. I don,t see it as a sign of the times because of some peoples ignorance of the country side code, many over the years have had as much respect for the grass they tread as they have for the landowner and their stock, some worked the land to their advantage, feck all else, some worked it the RIGHT way,you can be taught the RIGHT way,you can realise there is a RIGHT way,or you don,t care for anything else except personal gratification and indulgence.Ive done it the right and wrong way, possibly why i try to steer others away from my ignorance and the strife it caused.
  13. Hot meat, nearly all my permission is in sheep country, thus the dogs their sport, farmers and their livestock all meet at times.Accidents happen, especially a dog on a long gallop, most of my hunting is done when there are no lambs at foot, much of it is done when ewes are carrying in winter, the time when they are at the most risk from dogs and the influence a dog running through them as.I make it my purpose to respect the landowner and more importantly to respect his stock and livelihood, thats why i keep my permission and the landowners grace and favour, the majority of sheep soon learn to accept y
  14. If somebody in my company ever slipped a dog around sheep, they would never accompany me on land again,a dog never needs to chase sheep to cause wanton mayhem and injury to them, just running in their vicinity is enough to wreak havoc. Its a cardinal lurcher sin to some,of little importance.or relevance to others, many others it seems, how depairingly sad.
  15. Im all for letting a young dog receive its education,no matter the time of year, fair play and well done, letting any dog run through sheep, especially now,is nothing but irresponsible and fecks more permission, alienates farmers against lurcher owners and is the act of stupidity and ignorance.A dog on a long gallop may eventually enter land holding livestock, then its unfortunate,a dog lamping bunnys on short controlled runs would need taking into a field holding sheep,at this time of year with lambs at foot,im sad to see no others on this extensive post have issues with such.
  16. Maybe a sign of the times and the lad as a realistic idea of what a one trick pony is worth .
  17. Im in a lurcher dilemna Cleanspade,id rather source an honest pup of the sort id like than breed from the lass ive at hand, the lass at hand would possibly best serve my intention,if the desired stud could be sourced, its finding honest dogs from an honest kennel now,old school like us may not be the way now,how sad a reflection of the times.
  18. Ask the original owner, was it stolen?, etc.If it was,nt id want it back.
  19. Breeding terms were once set in stone, everybody knew the score and acted accordingly, the same stone and accordination is a thing of the past now, most would have you over for far less worth than the price of a decent jukel, honesty and trust, once the mainstay of hunting folk,is practiced by a lesser sort now.At least this lesser sort are still about,if you care to associate and find accord with them.
  20. Its a sad reflection of the individual at times, when he or she as gone through life and not met or found accord with a fellow hunter that they cannot trust with a dog.Blimey i am that sad individual.
  21. If a bit of Bale band can hold a 1 tonne hay bale together, then it will suffice a mutt that weighs far less, plus costs zilch,i treat them to a buffalo hide collar,£5 from Hargreaves in town, lasts a dogs lifetime and looks well with its bale band accompliment, how much is a strong stuff horse,i mean dog collar?.
  22. A good bitch is worth its weight in dollar,id have to have the utmost trust and affiliation with a kennel taking on my prized asset, would i do it?,i can think of only one lad i regard enough to trust the welfare of such a terrier, then id be on eggshells.
  23. Its readily available at all strengths from a variety of stockists.
  24. If i find that dog im going to give it to Paulus.
  25. Worst job ive endured was a Fluffer for a geriatric porn film company, the man who said a standing Johnston has no conscience lied.
