  1. Alright Dogger, the deer hunter gilet, what size does 52 equate to? Is that a 52 inch chest??
  2. I was always told you should pay a quarter of your income to your ma....so thats what I did..through my apprenticeship and on into working....he'll notice the difference when he moves oot!!!
  3. I have my Teckel on a tether to me at all times on most of my ground, reason being is the number of badger setts. If I let her run loose, she would be down an occupied sett in a flash, couldnt stop her, its just basic drive....not trained that way. its how they are. BUT if there is a blood trail, she will follow that without fail, passing setts to get to the beast, I think its the knowledge that she will get easy tidbits off the dead beast......even then tho, to stay out of trouble for myself or whoever shoots the beast, she is on a long line.....dont want the hassle!!
  4. Nice that, hope yours turns out good too.....
  5. I Understand What Your Saying Regarding Feeders But When You Take Your Feeders Down & The Garden Birds Disappear To Feed Else-Where Do You Think The Spa Stops Hunting / Killing Them . . No It Doesn't It Still Hunts Them Just Not In Your Garden. Maybe, but taking them down removes a very easy feeding station for them! I love sparrowhawks, very close to my heart, I used to be a registered keeper with the DOE and took them in injured and released them when they were fit again. BUT there are deffo too many now...buzzards too, there are a pair nesting in the high pines in my street ffs! You ne
  6. Too many sparrowhawks about for sure, I had to take my feeders down last year, they had become a feeding station for the sparrowhawks, I used to get goldies, bullies, long tailed tits all sorts, all I get now is jackdaws, cushies and magpies....few if any small finches.....shame. Lab is right, sparrowhawks and magpies need controlling, natural balance is out....
  7. Looking at your stuff makes me think back to the days I was an apprentice in Cummins, there were guys in there who could make anything out of anything, nothing got chucked, it got re-used. If you needed something for your motor or hobby, whatever, there was a guy in the factory who could make it.....glad to see craftsmen still exist!! You could get anything done in there, I had an anchor made from scrap bar and I have seen a line stop so that a microphone holder could get machined out of a solid brass lump....quality stuff......unfortunately all gone now...whole factory lying empty. Keep
  8. Nice mate, good combination... Puts my old BRNO in the shade looks wise! That old blunderbuss just needs a bayonet and I could go over the top with it, doesnae miss tho! The .222 is a cracking round, as you say its deadly, foxy certainly doesnt like it! Hope you get some bucks this summer....
  9. Sako are lovely!! Smooth as and pin accurate, I love that wee gun of mine, just put a 2.5 x 10 x 56 schmidt and bender on it and I am loving it. Couldnt believe the difference a decent scope makes in lowish light..... Whats yer .222?
  10. I used to fish the Clyde and there was a wee robin on one stretch that used to come down and bob about until you chucked him some maggots or a worm....eventually got him to eat out my hand...used to spend more time feeding him than fishing some days.....I also have a robin in my garden that follows me about when I have the spade in my hand.....stands watching till I delve the soil and then I let him dive in to have alook before I carry on....bold wee birds...
  11. Keep it man! Its a more versatile beastie than the .222 and I do like my .222 make no mistake, but I have hardly used it since I got the .243. It's a sako too, they are brilliant bits of kit.....mess about with loads and it can do so much more than the .222! You'll regret it!!
  12. Let them loose, on every publicly accessed bit of land in the country, first time an apple faced tent dweller gets scoffed by a pack of wolves or their apple red faces eaten off by a lynx, I for one shall pee my camo's with delight....fekking ramblers....the wolves will soon cotton on to the smell of mint bars and cupasoups.....easy pickings....
  13. Just the job for hauling logs and garden rubbish about....braw!
  14. Levis, Adidas Sambas in summer, 10 high Docs with yellow laces in winter, heavy metal T shirt and a DPM smock, topped off with a black beanie............off to school like that, if you wore a uniform at our school it just screamed "target"......
  15. Mind these things are carp and you know some of the muddy holes they live in! They will live for ever and a day given half a chance!
  16. Is that MacAllister the 9 inch version?
  17. Geese? The Triple X (glass) factory in Larkhall put in a flock of 50 to stop thieves....the villagers ate well that Christmas.....think they ended up with 4....... Put a couple of drop guns around the place......use mono to link them up.....nothing puts the keechters up them like a 12 gauge going off in the dark....
  18. Going to take it round the shows? There is a real scene for the old stuff at the agric shows....always like watching them. Cracking job on that, very clever using the curve on the sinks!!

    Punch Up ?

We used to have a 5's tourney in the factory I did my apprenticeship in.....so us young fit 1st year apprentices put in a team, we drew the Block Line Fat Boys first round.......we're standing there looking at these 50+ year olds, beer bellies, smokin tabs etc and we are having a right old laugh, gonna whip these boys, granny them etc etc.......we got humped, these boys had been playing as a unit for about 20 years, had been undefeated 5's champs in the factory for the last 5 years. Thing was they hardly moved!! Step and pass, step and pass, we were chasing shadows, I think we got stuffed 14 n

    Punch Up ?

Sounds like we are in the same boat mate, you cant afford to walk around tooled up or you get lifted! Some poor feckers going fishing or shooting have been lifted for carrying unintentionally.....shame they cant get their hands on all the little tracksuited gobshites running about with blades... I'm lucky if I get to the boozer 2 a month these days! Although I will be there on saturday for the rugby....

    Punch Up ?

And a sword behind every doorI am originally from a sleepy hamlet in Lanarkshire called Larkhall.........if you know it, you will know why I do indeed have a blade taped under my bed. No sword behind the door, that can be misunderstood, Just a 5 ft long ash staff with a sharpened steel ferrule on the end.....a 'walking stick'. Very large flat bladed screwdriver in car door pocket......in case of 'breakdown'. You cant be too careful, but you have to be able to justify it! Might be a bit ott I will grant you, but, its better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.... Guy in
