  8. .222 is the lowest calibre you can use on roe in Scotland and the .243 is perfectly acceptable on all species of UK deer. Although I have heard some people say that the FC will not allow you to use a .243 on reds and insist you use a larger calibre....hearsay, dont know if that is true or not. Didnt Harry Corbett shoot elephants with a .243?? I think I remember reading that in his books....it was his favourite round.
  9. Last time they came round our way, I was butchering a deer out the back, was in myself, so I opened the side gate......boning knife in hand and covered with bloody smears up my forearms etc......they seemed fairly nervous when I shouted to ask what they were after.....other time I opened the door and held my old staff by the collar so he was slaverin and snorkin....they didnt want to come in!

    Rubgy

Played since school, back row and second row....that was in Larkhall...I know a wierd place to play rugby, but we had some real animals playing. Then I played for Dalziel and then Linlithgow for a long time.....moved to inside centre from back row as I was picking up too many injuries! Then I busted 3 vertebrae on a frozen pitch and I was ooot! Loved it....nothing better, had to be nice and suited up all week, speak politely and then on a saturday, got to mash folk on the pitch and get mashed afterwards in the bar! Best sport in the world.....sadly ruined by professionalism.....in my opinion!
