I had a Remington 597 and it was accurate enough and it looked the part, it was just totally unreliable, it jammed at all the wrong times! IE any shot on live quarry! I tried it clean, dirty, inbetween and with all sorts of ammo. Winchester seemed to be the best in this rifle, but they are all different. Anyway, I traded it in and now have a bolt action Anshutz and I love it! I think it is more accurate, aye feeding rounds is slower, but hopefully I will be killing with the first shot! For me, bolt action all the way....too many rabbits etc escaped with the semi auto......

Car insurance!! Biggest scam of the lot, its a legal requirement for you to have it, they can charge what they like, its unregulated and then god forbid you try and make a claim, they will do everything and anything to make sure they dont pay you out......legalised theft!!!

Already celebrated with chips and curry sauce at lunchtime! (I always have haggis for brekkie, so didnt bother at lunch!) Might even snekk a couple of cans tonight in celebration!

Keep at it mate, I am off the fags for 9 monhs now, champix works wonders! Two mates just come off the tablets and both are swearing they will never touch a tab again! I had no side effects, but both my mates complained of stomach probs..... I'll tell you how good they are, I have a humidor full of good cubans and I cant even look at them, my da thinks all his christmases have come at once, he is robbin my cigars!

Just back at work today bud. I was out Friday, Saturday and Monday mornings, and Monday night on the rising tide. Nothing! Not a goose to be seen, lots of wigeon and mallard, but well out. Did not let off a single shot in 4 outings! Enjoyed the sunrises and being out, that was it! Also, drove from Inverness across to Aberdeen on saturday for a birthday and never saw a goose all the way across, nothing! We need some serious weather to sort it out. Not too much cheery news for you I'm afraid!! I'm back up there in 3 or 4 weeks for 2 weeks, hopefully the weather will have sorted itself ou

Alright? Aye do a lot of fowling here, either here or the forth. Was out near mcdermotts this morning, only saw 2. Morning lads, cos I am stuck on a computer all day long, I tend not to look at the damn things when I get home, but some of the advice from the IT heads on here made me laugh!! Most of the people I know in the working dog scene have homes for the dogs before they are born. I help out on several estates and when a keeper has a dog in pup, there are usually working homes ready for them. Also, there is not usually much (if any) money being moved around, jobs are done, favours owed and required etc etc, more of a barter thing! The only folks that would get charged for a dog are outsiders looking for a posing pooch.....

Turbo shandy, 3/4 a pint of strong lager topped up by a vodka ice.....brilliant! Blue WKD and port is called a cheeky vimpto. Screaming Angel - brandy and babycham. Car bomb, guiness and a baileys dropped into it......boom! All good........turbo shandy is well worth a try tho....tastes just like a shandy, but it does cause have spectacular effects!

Spiked the soles of both feet trying to climb the fence at Waverly station....first one hurt really badly, then I tried the other foot?? Red wine! This was 23rd December and then had to go to casualty and get the bits of rust picked out the holes in my feet with a raging hangover.... Woke up in the bucket of a JCB in Portobello..... Walked through the middle of a disco in France wearing a pair of reeboks and nowt else.......it was between the beach and my caravan....I knew where I was going. Drank so much at a rugby bash that I started doing involuntary backflips....Apparently....

Played against a few Scottish internationals, got a black eye off Finlay Calder, had a bit of a dust up with his brother JIm too. They bought me several pint after tho, in fact we had a right skinful.
