Pleased To Meet The Pianoman
pianoman replied to Skot Ruthless Teale's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Thank you Skot And PLEASE invest in that target holder fella! I'll invest in a machette! My days of wading neck-deep in reeds and nettles and getting my fat boy's arse over barbed wire fences, about 1ft in front of stone walls, are definitely past me now mate. But the walk over the grasslands and the views from the fields you have there, was lovely. Shame there isn't much sport about. The woods and fields you have to shoot over should be teeming with rabbits. Have a great time with everyone at the meet. Best regards Skot. Simon -
I was thinking more on the lines of a proper rifle....

I think he can do a stage 2 tune straight off from scratch roosika. You can order a rifle from Sandwell Field Sports; to be then tuned ready to be collected by you in person. In practice the law prohibits the gun dealers from supplying air rifles via mail order direct. It has to go from the supplying RFD to another RFD for you to collect from his premises (Who will want a handling fee most like). Yet, I think, and barmy as it sounds, you can send and collect one to and from an RFD via a private courier! Someone perhaps can explain the situation better than I can. Pianoman

Hi Mickey. Get an HW80 .22 with a 21- inch barrel like mine and fit a Webley Venomtech Long slim silencer as I have. This rifle measures out at 50-3/4 inches long. It's on my FAC, packs a 21.3 ft/lbs punch and hits a rabbit's head like a Tiger tank's 88mm cannon hit a Sherman to as far as I can shoot it to! The ultimate hide and long range vermin spring sniping rifle. I love her to bits! Best regards. Pianoman

Pleased To Meet The Pianoman

Dear Skot. Thank you so much pal . It was a real, genuine pleasure to meet you and have a shooting session with you tonight mate. The days of yomping bloody miles with a rifle and pack on my back however, are long past me I'm afraid my bonny and, Andy has me spot on right. I am built more for comfort than speed these days. I used to fly and volt over barbed wire fences like they were nothing when I was your age but, I noticed, really for the first time tonight that, I am definitely getting on into my wobbly impending old age and I cannot get over them as once I so easily could! I have actually,Elliott. Their Pro Staff range look very good. Andy put me on about them when we met up for a shoot not long back. I think he's been pretty much taken with them too.

Never had a Bushnell scope that went wrong, Wasted. I love them. That Bushnell Elite you have sounds truly amazing . I love the idea of having a scope that can roll down to 2.5 x-mag and up to 16 x-mag through a 50mm Objective Lens. There's nothing you can't shoot with such a focal range!

Hi S2K. First off. It's not your shooting that's your rifle's problem. It's all about the weight of the pellet. I've shot Webley spring rifles since God was in shorts and I've never yet found a heavyweight pellet that ever had any tight grouping accuracy from a Webley springer. Webley Exocet is a spring rifle. So....Bisley Magnum will very likely, not group from a Webley springer barrel. Never known them to and certainly not in .22 so you can write those off. Not sure Air Arms pellets will either. Seems you are getting a mixed response from these and that's still not right.

Ha Jammy is not something that happens to me all that often! You really rate these Vortex scopes I can see, woodcote. I'm not giving up on trying out these scopes. But no gunshop I deal with is selling them. And I'd like to, at least, have a hold of one or two and a close look to my eye, before I part with my cash ! I only go mail order as a last resort and then, only when I'm absolutely confident in what I'm buying and from who! Simon

Hello Gentlemen. Popped over to RED BECK shooting supplies not far away for some .177 ammo for my HW97K. I noticed they are selling BRAND NEW HAWKE SPORT HD 3-9X40 AO IR scopes for £55:00. Prices for this model Hawke are normally £84:99! Small and sweet is what I'm looking for in a scope for the 97K, keeping weight down to a minimum on this rifle and, this one fits the bill. Small, compact and lightweight with a very pleasing Matte finish it focuses very quickly and sharply and the measured range marks looked close to the ranges actually focused at It's got a useful, uncluttered

TASCO scopes from the 1980s were a really marvelous deal for air rifle shooters back then. They gave us our first proper scopes at sensible prices. It's good to read you are still happily shooting with one Kanny! Blimey Chris, I'd have thought a Leupold would have the edge over the Simmons. But the Simmons Whitetail Classics were a brilliant scope for any air rifle. I still have the "Graphite coated" 4.5-14x 40 AO I bought with my HW80 nearly 16 years ago. Thousands of shots at high recoiling FAC output and my Simmons is still as good as the day I bought it new. @ £230:00! But that's qua

A gun-stock maker? Try Custom Stock of Sheffield!

Weedy as f**k Andy! I'm convinced the issue of the weight of an HW80 has become an urban myth of shooting. People will make references to the weight of an HW80 putting them off buying one without actually picking one up and putting it to their shoulder. It's something they've read or heard of. Facking wimp poofs! How the f**k would they cope with shooting the same military weapons they love playing with on 'Call Of Duty; Pansies Attack!' If you can't handle the weight of an HW80, you have no business taking-up shooting live animals for sport.

Aww Chris NOOOOOOOO!!! :cray: I would never sell one of my rifles to pay a bill. Any bill. I'd ask my bank to lend me the cash or try anything else but, to sell one of the rifles I have would fill me with remorse for life. There is an attachment we get to our rifles that, even if you filled a room with HW80s and put yours and mine in among them and then, sent us blindfolded into the room, we'd be able to pick our own individual rifles out from the mass. Mac your little grandson is never going to forget his Christmas to come. I'm actually feeling excited for him knowing what he's

Mothering Law? HW fecking heavy ? Must be you old lad. HW80 is oner of the lightest rifles I've ever had! Honestly, it weighs next to nothing. But then I'm not exactly built like a noodle-armed pipe cleaner Spring rifles rock!

I spend all my cash on my guns. I don't have a camera. Sorry.

if you had to choose between that an the ole 77 which one ? Hi Frank. Sorry I seem to have missed this mate. Fair question and here's a fair answer. Honestly? it's still my beloved HW77. If you think how much I'm raving how good the HW97 is. Imagine how good my HW77 .22 rifle that can match it and beat it for hunting accuracy with knock down power. The HW97 is going to be a competition rifle. It's superbly accurate and light enough for standing shots. But my HW77 is in a different catagory. Best wishes mate. Simon

Ever Felt Uneasy About A Permission?
pianoman replied to Corinium Stew's topic in General Airgun Discussion
I totally agree. How do you know the gamekeeper has an agenda against these people here? Go ahead and enjoy it however it goes. If the wife turns into a Bitch and all the c**ts under the the sun well, that's her lookout. You are just out to enjoy a bit of shooting. Not get involved in their family life. Same goes for valboskie and the ignorant arse of the landowner's son. Nothing personal, you ain't there to be the butt of anyone's ill will. Having secured the permission maybe it's worth having a word with the local police that you have written evidence of access to shoot there and inten -
Righty-o mate! Well, I went to Red Beck today for ammo. I bought a tin of H&N FTT 4.50 as these are very accurate from the rifle. Also a tin of Bisley Magnum 4.50. And... A little Hawke HD 3-9X40 IR AO scope with mil-dot reticle. £55 new and down from £84-99! Had a range session this afternoon with it and it's proving a superb little scope. Consistent, 5p sized groups at 35 metres and soon I had stones picked-off at all ranges. Exactly what I want as a hunting optic for the HW97K. Can't knock it! Simon

I believe so Nick. They aren't powerhouses but very sweet and accurate. I've shot with Davy's Spectre at Old Downs Shooting grounds and it's really lovely. Even though it was zeroed for Davy's eye and has a strictly right-hander roll-over comb on the thumbhole butt-stock. I got really tight groups and skittled spinners at 40 yards with it. Great rifle!

Will do!

Hi Chris. Well, you know what I'm going to say mate. Considering how well Weihrauch rifles can restore from the most heinous neglect; and knowing what you'd be able to do to it, I'd say snap it up. Having told him it's worth about £ means that's what you'll have to pay but I've a feeling this is no bad deal; just for the internal condition. If she's sweet on the inside and the stock's not been buggered the rest is down to you and elbow grease! I absolutely love HW77s. This will probably be one of the old Mk1 carbines and in .177 these were the absolute precision accurate spring rifl
