My parents used to breed dachshunds... Epileptic, bad teeth, throw their back out easily, heart problems, i would say 1 in 3 needs a c-section. All of them need assistance whelping. Delicate spoilt f***ing things.

In the gun dog group there were several dogs that looked fit for purpose... The german shorthaired pointer for example.. Yet they put the worst dog in the whole group in at first place.. Absolutely shocking.

I think most do better outside unfortunately with dog theives about its not always a viable option. My fella sleeps in a crate in the house and goes most places with me.
