its stupid what people are preparied to pay i sold my mk 1 a few years ago for more than i paid for it as for the old resistors not fitting it i can probably source some of those due to the bits of kit that we have at work and the catalouges are full of stuff that dates back to this time the basic principles of making a transmitter and receiver are quite simple getting to fit down around the ferrets neck is the dificult bit i am interested to know what parts they have fitted. to see if i can source them from anywhere.

got the mark 3m myself good bit of kit i have the idea that if i can get them repaired it would be a good idea as there are still loads out there that will need fixing in the future

entered last years kits yesterday they are 13month old one of them to to the job briliantly other worked but not with the same energy she will get the idea though could see it dropping in by the end of the day. but have entered ferrets at 6 months before deoends on ground and ferrets that you have if they are small burys then no probs but big burys in hard going ground are going to be a struggle for them i always opt for a small bury to start any ferret atb with them though mate

f mac i know have been watching a few go they seem to go for good money to much for me to get just to have a play with. i think mick dadd buys a few up saw an advert on the rabbiters forum from what i beleive to be him asking for old mk 1s i think people stuggle to get the spares from anywhere so they break down the finders and rebiuld with them.

got up off nights today and thought i would go have a bit of a mooch round see whats happening on one of the farms i have acces to. got talking to the owner who said hed seen a few in the bottom of one of the fields on a bit of clear ground. when i got down there put 2 rabbits down to the bury. with two new ferrets in the box i thought this to be the place to give them a run through. down went the nets collared the ferrets up and enetred them one on of the holes in the field. first ferret messed about in the hole for a minute or two so i removed her and entered the smaller of the two.

dont go down the glove route or you will never get them used to your hands just looking at my right hand now i must have nearly thirty puncture marks in different points of healing from my hob this week id rather cure it now then when hes able to bite properly stick with the handling it will get better none of the marks are deep jst where they are testing there teeth i expect this with the youngsters for a while but every night when they have been fed i let the grub settle then bring them in the house for a couple of hours while i watch the box.

just added two new ferts into my setup total now four. cleaned out this morning and refed also included a small bowl of milk and an egg as a treat once every couple of weeks i do this. went out about 4 hours later as one of the ferts backed up against the wire for a crap upon which point it squirted across the path like it was taking a pee. so i grabbed here quickly and have checked her over and she seems fine no other indications that she looks unwell or anything else have since kept an eye and all the others seem normal ie there not shitting through the eye of a needle. at th

picking them up and handle them as much as possible an hour a day is often not enough when they are that young they dont proper bite. there are many options that people have tried over the years including taping the nose of the ferret when it bites or sticking your finger right into its mouth when it bites so its uncofatable for the ferret all have worked and will work but best is just to keep handleing the ferrets as much as possible and i never put the kits down straight after they have bitten me as they want to go down so there fore by biting and been put down they associate it with being p

good stuff mate

with new kits i find the more you handle them the better they become one of last years was a sod and would nip at every oppurtunity but by perseveraing they realise that its not to be done. a couple of tips ive allways found handy is to wash your hands before picking them up removes all signs of food from your hands and smells of food. and once you have picked them up just keep fussy them like a kitten. one the old guys used to do round here which worked was to spit in your palm and let them lick it gross i know but worked. i go for a bit of ferreton or milk in the palm instead.
