  1. we went out yesterday and took 5 hobs, to try re stocking the freezer, we went to an area that holds plenty of rabbits, yet none would "bolt" we ended the day with 8 very small babies, that the ferts carried out, really need fast/quick jills to bolt rabbits, the hobs were more interested in shagging than rabbits, and using 1 hob per warren just dont get them bolting, just hole hoping
  2. just make sure theres a good layer of woodchip at the bottom, of any "fall area" kitts are quite tough little buggers, at one time my jill had the whole litter on a shelf in the court, maybe 30" high, a few fell off there, only to be picked back up by mum, and placed back up top,
  3. I have never "scruffed" or "flicked noses" and none of my ferrets are biters, simply handle the kitts as much as possible, if they latch onto a thumb or finger, push it into their mouth, pressing down on the rear of tongue, makes them gag, they sound learn not to bite
  4. put them up on photobucket first, if they are too big, or if your using a digital camera, put it on the lowest resolution settings, it makes the pictures computer friendly, and smaller in size(pixels)
  5. most butchers will order it in, if they dont keep it in stock, its normally imported from china though, a lot smaller than our rabbits, I checked on prices through a butcher friend, they wanted £70!!!!! for 30 rabbits, Id rather feed dry
  6. all depends how the jill is with you, Ive got 3 litters, 2 are 3 weeks plus and the jill can handle the cleaning, as the kitts will leave the nest area, the 3rd litter are still thumb size, so thats not been done yet,
  7. and your reason for shooting woodies from an upstairs widow is what, Ill tell you what it is, its illegal just because its within your boundaries/parents/your house, dont make it ok woodies or ferals?
  8. wouldent it be better to read up on canaries first, before attempting "to breed" them, by your own words you dont know the ins and outs

got it in one, to many armchair hunters, teenage twats, and hunting posing anti's, and we cant win, we banned people that bring the site down, only for members to cry "bring them back", or members posting illegal pictures, or just plain arguing between one an other, still that brings "wheres my picture gone" members wont be happy till the site folds
  10. surely, if you were to have a FAC, it would be better to get a rimfire, would have thought a FAC air rifle, would work out more expensive
  11. whats the idea with starting two posts, asking the same question, and getting impatient and bumping both, if this was the "sit at home all day doing nothing forum" you could expect replies within minutes of putting your post up, but its not, its a hunting life forum, meaning alot of members will be out of a weekend when you put your post up, LEARN TO WAIT PS, IM DELEATING THE OTHER POST/TOPIC, AS ITS SILLY HAVING TWO POSTS RUNNING
  12. nice court, lots of space, presuming they have access, inside the shed
  13. when bidding on the bay of e, as long as you dont panic, and have a good internet connection, the bid can be made 16 seconds before end of auction
  14. there's a few good things about being a pestie, I bring my work home with me, or should I say, "stores" we use the stuff quote a few posts back, kills most insects bugs etc, but is user friendly and can be used around livestock, as red mite tend only to feed of a night, and live in the woodwork in day, its quite easy to spray only ever had the mite in the court once (so far) when it was first built,
  15. downwards dont tell me from a window
  16. Red mite attack cage birds at night so i doubt it is that .Just my opinion mate what I would do is take the mother away while you change the bedding in the nest box, while the nest box is empty spray all the edges of the nest box with Duramitex (great stuff) or front line and replace the bedding with shredded paper. When kits are independent at about 8 weeks front line the lot.If in the mean time if it gets bad see a vet.Hope it helps P1. as we have/keep chickens in the pen next to the ferrets, we tend to suffer from red mite, which is why I commented it may be them, not knowing if the g
  17. f**k, that was some spot, sorts the men from the boys, they use a knife, I would want a needle
  18. dont know if you could get it over there, but we use some stuff called OA2Ki, its a organic type insect killer, safe to use around humans and animals, bedding etc,

    ferrets

I bet those kitts would kill for a bit of rabbit

    ferrets

no idea on that one Im affraid, you could try ringing the vet and asking, but Im sure they would say, bring it in, with £ signs in there minds what are you using as bedding, maybe the dust in woodshavings?
  21. I had the same idea, Ive got the one from LIDI and tried it on the rear of my sight, it works a treat, but its the joining thats the prob, you'd need some sort of stiff velcro band to join the two, as the front of nv is the same size as rear of telescopic, then another band?, to hold the nv steady on the rifle butt, of course it would be cumbersome, think Ill leave it till I can get a rimfire, then go with richie's £300 jobby
