I think you two have your wires crossed, if Im reading para's first reply correct, he means that by looking at the colour of my kitts, he has two kitts in a litter that resemble them, and therefore is happy, as he states, never had silvers before (am I correct?) kay is confussed as to why you quoted her saying "they look little belters" before adding your post,
-
so as mixy is easy to detect, you'd bin it, so how do you check for anything else that rabbit may have, but not be showing signs of, before feeding to your ferts sue mixy cannot be passed onto ferrets or humans, granted if the rabbit was covered in mixy, and looking a sorry state, it may not look good to you, but it'll taste the same to the ferts, do you think it the wild, a predator animal, say's no I wont eat THAT RABBIT it's got mixy
-
they will most probably get an outing or two, before I make a final choice, I can only keep 6 or so, outta 29 kitts, or so the missus thinks
-
I'll hold my hands up, to knowing naff all about dog behaviour, but I would'ent personnaly, try, as with ratting, you want the dog to catch/kill anything that moves, and a rat could look very simular to a ferret, in the heat of the moment, we have 2 JRT's, one is ok around ferts, the other who has done a fair bit of "ratting" is not let anywhere near the ferts, as he will go for them on any oppotunity,
-
how can you be sure, that the hole contains a squirrel, and not some protected species?
-
just one picture, before the batteries went on the camera, a mixture of poleys and silvers, 37 days old today
-
we have two JRT's, one a 9yr old bitch, who I can trust 100% around my ferts, the other is a 4yr old dog, that has done a fair bit of ratting, I could'ent trust him one bit, he's allowed around the hutches and cages when Im there, and whilst there, he just looks, but as soon as he thinks Im not looking, he will try to bite them through the cage fronts, although with time/lots of time he may change, but I belive he never will, and for that reason, will never come out with the ferts, as It would be bad enough if he attacked one of my ferts, let alone another ferreter's ferrets you could use
-
I was trying to work out the probable genotype of your ferrets, but as there seems to be some uncertainty about the matings then that is not possible - i.e on the jill side in one post you described her as "a last years polecat jill (silver/albino parents)" but in the next post as a "silver jill", whilst the hob could be "either a polecat or a silver"! either its my typing, or your reading it wrong, your quoting two differnt matings that I described, not one pair, but from reading your earlier post, both of my polecat jills from last year, must be split/carring the albino gene, a

looks like you had a great day and a good bag of rabbits, that net has got a nice bit of bag to it

FICTON; as I walked along, a dragon that had been tetherd nearby, broke free of its shackles and dived towards me, with my shield raised above my head, I tried to beat him back, he got a talon past my sheild and pulled my facemask from me, before taking a few chunks from my face, I battered him with my sheild and he crashed to the floor, dead; "the dragon slayer" FACT; I was building a raised bed for our youngest, zak, as I tried putting the matteress on top, it got tangled with the resin dragon, hanging from the cieling, that was put there, as it had a few sharp bits, and we felt it

To John B , two questions ? ?
stubby replied to stephen58's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
cheers john, received the book this morning, just flicking through it, and I can see what an interesting read it will be, -
its gonna get confussing pat, when I bring my "brenda" out too, here's "boston" grandson of buster, the missus fell in love with him

are the pictures already on your computer? if so write your new post, then bottom right of page, you'll see a browse button, click on that, it will take you into your computer, click on "my pictures" then click on the picture you want, then click "open" you'll then see the photo name etc, in the box to the left of that browse button, then simple click the "upload" button, and wait a few seconds, if the picture is too big, it will tell you, picture is too big to upload, if not, it will say something like 122 of 300 used, if you get that, youll see the "manage current attachments" box, above
-
have used those one's when first started out, they ok, until you hit hard ground or a stone, then they just bend, definately better to buy proper poles, or use hazel, like they say, you get what you pay for
-
so crow, Im interested on the reason for asking if I was 100% sure on the parentage of mine, this albino thing is new to me
-
yes. but sometimes you only have time to pick up and have a quick look before they squeak like f**k and the jill comes and bites off your fingers lol thats when a tube of ferret malt paste comes in handy, big sploge of it on the hutch wall, opposite end to kitts, will keep her busy for a good couple of minutes
-
even easier, jills will have two holes very close together, nearly touching, hobs will have a space between a hole and a bump, simple
-
guy, see's a sign outside the pub pie's 50p wank's £1 he walk's in, and see's this sexy barmaid, and say's to her, are you the one that gives the wanks she smile's at him, and say's yes he replies, well go wash your f*****g hands, I want a pie

depending where you live, rural or city/town, I work for a pest control firm, that sub contracts to london underground, and yes you do a fair bit of shooting feral pidgeons, but thats just the tip of the iceburg, add to that all the normal rat/mice/cockroach/flies/fleas treatments we have to do, plus looking for dead rodents under ticket offices, then onto the birdwork and netting/spiking etc, or just cleaning pidgeon shit, as a start with a pest control firm, you would need a full car license as most supply you with a van, although most firms give you in house training etc, they sent me for
-
any news on those kitts, I see you'vre been on the board, but not updated us on the kitts
-
what was the dates, that the first mating should have produced kitts by??
-
it dont come across as anyone having a pop at him busa, just they point out that jayes, or any liquid cleaner that turns cloudy when mixed with water, is harmful to ferts better for someone to say it, rather than a fert die's and then its said, I use the pink stuff that they use to clean kennels out, if its ok for dogs, should be ok for ferts
-
my orginal 2 ferrets were both silvers (from magwitch) who normal pairs silver to polecat, these 2 jills were both paired to the same albino hob, they between them, threw 15 kitts, a mixture of polecat and silvers, from these I kept back, a hob and jill silver, and 2 jill, 1 hob polecat I then had 2 planned matings this year, using both the jill polecats, both mated to the same sandie hob (parentage unknown) and as stated, have a few albino's in the litters, along with polecate the totall un planned mating, was with the silver jill (bred last year) to either a polecat or a silver, wh
