to get your brain working even more, last year my kitts were bred using an albino hob, producing silvers and polecats, two of the polecat jills were mated this year, to a sandie hob, one jill has had 4 polecat jills, and 1 albino hob the other has 12 kitts, and it looks like we have at least 3 albino in there, so we know the mum jills, must be carrying albino from their father, and the sandie(unknown parentage) must also have albino in his making somewhere also a last years polecat jill (silver/albino parents) was mated with another last years silver hob, and has thrown, 5 si
  2. our ex battery hens, are behind a four foot high fence, no problems if your near essex and need some 8x4 sheets, with a 2"x2" square, gimme a shout
  3. after this is all sorted, Id suggest whoever of the pair of you is using the forum name wiz1234, to keep that, and the other to make a new screen name, as its a bit confussing as to who were all talking too and as it seems, the above quote, was made by the father, Im sorry, but saying "Ive done all I can to help her" you should now say "I'll do all I can to help him" by reading up on ferret husbandry with you son, so this sort of mistake is not made in vain
  4. I was'ent saying "put them into a rescue" but to ask if a rescue centre could help you out, in raising the kitts if your unsure, they are normally run by quite dedicated people
  5. unless you can devote ALL YOUR TIME, to the kitts for the next two weeks, or find someone who can, or has a jill with a small litter that may foster them onto, I'd say it would be better to take them to a rescue centre in the hope they can raise them, I once took a month off work, to hand rear 15 baby budgies, ranging from 5 days to 2 weeks old, it was bloody hard, feeds every 2 hours, 24hrs a day, plus cleaning, plus getting a feed right, that they would take, without getting the shits, ended up with a mixture of rusks, canary egg food, and baby milk, only lost one out of the 15, and had a st
  6. the only bad thing with richie's set up, is the dodgy colour of his jeep

I beg to differ on that one, ... go on then... because you would'ent want to breed silver to silver, but then, thats just mine, and a few others views, theres a massive post if you do a search on the pro's and con's, of breeding two reccessive colours together
  8. lovely lass, loves her dogs and chickens

I beg to differ on that one,
  10. done a bit of scouring the net, and a few of the americans who write all that crap about ferrets that the pet keepers get there hands on and then start quoting, do say that a BLACK EYED WHITE, which they class as a DARK EYED WHITE, is in fact a silver, that has moulted out the silver guard hairs, I to have always thought, that BEW's dont really exist as a colour, just SILVERS, I have two silver jills, that in their winter coats, could easily be classed as BEW's
  11. I've got to say i disagree with that mate, you seem to imply that it would be better to kill a ferret than to give it diarrhoea! Although milk sops do cause this, im sure anything would take a life with diarrhoea than not having a life at all. In my opinion, culling should only be an option if there is a serious medical issue. Better to give the ferret a chance with another owner than just kill it. If it's that big a deal to you then why not take the trouble to make sure the ferret is going to a good home, rather than doing the lazy thing and just killing it. Also, posts like that onl

what other colour albino's are there then is there a need to breed
  14. just feed and water her, and take a peek in a weeks time, it could be interfearance from you, that would get her that way
  15. got mine from e bay, think i paid £127 for the mk3 and one collar, have since bought 3 more collars from e bay too, no probs, no not seconds, just less overheads, plus alot do FREE p&p
  16. cant Imagine the jills rejecting them for any reason, other than interfearance from yourself (unintended) from keep looking at them, normally placid jills, can turn nasty towards fingers, when theres kitts in the nest, so be careful have at the moment in my court, 2, 2yr old ferts, 1, 1yr old daughter, and her 12 kitts, all doing fine, the 2, 2yrs old's are acting as surrogates they are a mum and aunt to the jill, and up untill the kitts were around 3 weeks old, there was 2 snipped hobs and a castrated hob in there also
  17. nice one richie, hopefully there's a "driller 2" in there somewhere
  18. after a few members have posted ferret problems, thought it would be a good Idea to pin a topic up on ferret health, if you want to add any to it, that are not already mentioned, then please do so, but please, no silly comments or remarks,
  19. adding a birthdate, area, likes, dislikes etc, aint going to give anyone your full name, address, dogs names etc, is it
  20. Well i am taking what you say at face value & know your 13 , i have a son your age & an older one so kind off wouldnt like to think he was being yelled at by people as i assume the vets bill & geting the ferret to the vets is going to be your parents responisibility & ultimatly there decision as to when the ferret can see the vet & it costs money as we all know Plus i would hate to think a young member was scared to post on here & driven away by some off the harsher comments , maybe its just me but i do think foul language & the way we post should be moderated
  21. no disrespect here jazz, but to me, nothing major, and, just needs an injection dont go together I think this has proven a point, that ANYTHING, ANY COLOUR, seen oozing from the rear end of a ferret, should be checked out by a vet, maybe your green stuff, could turn yellow, if it was'ent for this "injection" thats needed
  22. Miss Just out of curiosity what is his height from floor to top of shoulder? in inches
  23. as everyone seems to have had there say in this debate, and its now just getting into name calling, Ive locked it,
