  1. you may get better response, if you define your question more, ie, ferreting, longnetting, snaring, if either of the first two, post in the relevant section for better replies
  2. good pics and a good bag of rabbits to match
  3. try to find a smallish warren, 6 holes or so, place purse nets over all the holes, and starting at one side, place the ferrets, each down a nearby hole, you may find them a bit hesitent to go down, or they may shoot down quick as anything, then keep on your toes, if you hear rumbling below, its rabbits

    advice

longnets either side, maybe some stop nets across if possible, get a couple of friends help, or members from here, start at one end and slowly work along
  5. no disrespect here mate, but before getting yourself some ferrets, read up as much as possible on them, asking a basic question as breeding times, makes me think you have alot more to learn
  6. dont be too quick to judge her, my first two ferrets, where from a ferreter that passed them on, one of them became my best worker, and comes out on evey trip, so be patient
  7. how come every post i put up or read about ferrets you think your gods gift you all ways have to put some smart sarcastic anser just because your a moderater does not make you it its weird aint it, most of the other replies, state the obvious same as me, or say to feed more, yet Im the only one to get slagged for it not gods gift mate, just an opinion, if you want to ask stupid questions, expect stupid answers, and just to put your mind at rest, I dont hang around waiting for your posts to reply to, I wait for everyone's
  8. still amazes me why members never do a "search" where they could get all the answers straight away, rather than putting up a post and waiting for replies, the question has many pages on it already, top right of page you'll see "search" click it and put in mk3 ferret finder, or simular words, you'll get quite a few pages back I bet
  9. there isi'nt a magic cure here, surely common sense would give you the answer, rather than needing to ask others, keep the hob seperate,
  10. they come in handy to split a hedgerow when longnetting both sides, stops the rabbits just running within the nets length
  11. great pics and write up tomo, think I'll have to retire upto your neck of the woods
  12. we went out last weekend mate, follow the link and have a read http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...st&p=706174
  13. for sneakyness, Id go for the piece of string, carrot and housebrick trap, johnb knows all about them
  14. check e bay, Ive seen new mk3's with two collars around the £172 mark, with free postage, so for the extra twenty over what you want to spend, you'd have peace of mind that its a brand new unit, with a years gurantee and a back up service if needed, comared to a secondhand unit, no gurantee and no repairs anymore

    hahahah

not even a snigger from me, where's my fiver
  16. yeah, and for years people did'nt give a shit about there ferrets, times have changed matey, meat eating animals do not fair well on a bread and milk diet, or are you telling us they do because they did it years ago
  17. is it a mk1 or mk3, as a terrier mk3 is just a longer collar, cut it down, and its the same as a ferret collar, I have one that I cut down, and use on my larger hobs
  18. I'd not try the cats milk/lactol, as this may give her the shits, keep syringing the water, and prehaps mince some meat for her
  19. nice pics mate, but why the shreded paper, a little woodchip in the bottom will surfice, they can withstand cold, but heats a killer, must get a bit stifeled in there
  20. I normally do, just dispatch by hand mate, but you'll notice, I was trying to show my daughter how too, as I did'nt think she'd have "the pull" needless to say, I showned her well away from the dog the second time
  21. yup, now stop smoking thay waccy baccy

    Xbox live

I used to play on the pc too , but in the panic of killing, I'd often hit the "shut down" key and end eveything, joypads (xbox) are so much better, everything at your fingertips,
  23. you dont say, what food, dry or meat? if its dry, I'd say your getting a good deal, as a 50kg of dry ferret biscuit here, is £38 if it's meat, then rabbits are free
  24. I have kept ferrets from around the age of 14, in those early days I also had kestrel's and barn owls, therefore the ferrets at that time were fed the same, dead day old chicks, dry food was'ent available or heard of back then, and I never ferreted rabbits, or gave other foods, yet most of my fert, lived to ages of 6yrs plus only time I had a fert die, was a jill had come into season, while I was on holiday with the school, and those left to look after them, fed them, but did'nt clean cage, and infection had got her via the vulva as for "fluff" in the throat, how does that differ from
