  1. At least when clonmel is on you're less likely to meet these feckers. Only advice I can offer is to park outside the farmhouse whenever possible, take reg numbers if possible and see if you can find one of these cheap http://www.trail-camera.co.uk/Trail-Camera.htm to watch your car. It might not stop them wrecking it but it gives you some proof of who did it. Local guards can be like the redneck sheriff in american movies but if you have evidence and complain higher up you might get some action.
  2. Hi Old school, I've bred pups in the past but wouldn't like to now unless I really wanted one from my bitch. The most I charged then (early eighties to nineties) was 25 or 30 quid but if I was buying now I'd happily pay 150 to 200. You had no problems with your litters and you had a cheap food supply. I had parvo appear in a litter of terrier pups and had veterinary fees, a couple of dead pups, and several sleepless nights spooning a teaspoon of water into each pups mouth every hour. I don't like the responsibility of breeding and then having dodgy people turn up at my house to take pups I'v
  3. I've paid from £20 to £200 but might pay more for something from special breeding. I know a lot of people think pups should be gifted but I've bred one or two litters in the past and I firmly believe that a breeder should get something to cover rearing and allow for any vet treatment that might be needed. I think £150 to £200 a pup is a fair price.
  4. Some thing giving him a bit of a wider chest and shoulder muscling too, but not enough for straight bull grey. Was his father saluki bull grey or maybe collie grey?
  5. If it was fine last week then maybe it's something simple like a loose wire inside? I'd say get it looked at by someone competent or by Debens. Be careful though, a member off here had one explode while charging, setting fire to his house.
  6. Any pics of the mali Woz? I've seen vids of working malinois on utube - they seem to have lots of energy. Is she calm or does she get exited and crush all the bunnies?
  7. Did the match between Mark and Minshaw Man ever take place? I liked minshaw mans bitch and was interested in how it would turn out.
  8. Just out of interest, what breeding was she?
  9. The price difference is certainly significant. If you're in Ireland you can get two 7ah dry lead acid for under 60 euro. The 14ah lithium will cost you 250 euros. I still prefer the lithium but if price is an issue and weight isn't then go for the lead acid.
  10. I use lithium because they're lighter but I also have a couple of 7ah lead acid ones. If you're not bothered about weight, stick to the lead acid. A 7ah drycell lead acid burglar alarm battery costs 25 to 30 euros here in ireland. You can take two of them if you're making a night of it then switch them if your lamp starts to dim a bit.
  11. Here it is - https://ssl.bbc.co.uk/complaints/forms/?reset=#anchor Unfortunately, in matters of bias or inaccuracy you have to complain to the BBC itself. This programme seems to have contained both so get on and ask them to broadcast an apology for inciting public harassment of people legally lamping rabbits. Maybe they will and maybe they won't but they have to look at the complaints and make some kind of reply.
  12. \Isn't there some kind of independent complaint procedure against the media in the UK? I'm sure I've seen apologies printed somewhere but can't remember where.
  13. Or hedge bottoms at release time, with wire mesh at one side. (He mustn't have read this thread).
  14. I've only been having a laugh on here, as I suspect Dan was...... but this has to be the daftest post, (unless you are taking the piss) !! How is a 24" more "versatile" than a 25" or a 23" ?? And "small dogs grow up to cloddy or slow " ???????? where on earth did you get that one from ??? Cheers. Charts, I didn't mean that small dogs were more likely to grow up cloddy or slow. Just that if they do come heavy they are more likely to be too slow to be very good as rabbiters. As for the rest I'm not even going to bother explaining anything more to you. You're in a bad enough mood alr
  15. I voted 24 inches as it's more versatile for different types of hunting and types of terrain. Also with the smaller sizes there's more chance of them growing up too cloddy or slow.
  16. Bolio, you posted while I was typing but I'm thinking same as you.
  17. These guys are probably protecting their stock rather than looking for sport. As for the dogs lacking bottle, you don't know this quarry 'til you've run it.
