  1. there was a thread up a while ago i think it was titled 'whirrer' that was about a jack x whippet the bloke had bred himself looked a nice dog. Also I think 'tyla' on here has got one. I'm considering putting a whippet with my jack in the future, this is her first season just using her for bushing and ferreting so see how she does first, so far so good, she's long legged an quick, was marking well( maybe a little too vigorously ) last time out with the ferrets and is real keen again needs a little reining in maybe. I also like the sound of the mix but I also have a 3/4 whip 1/4 beddy and w

  7. I go ferreting with one lad and lamping with a mate and thats it, it's the same as anything you know who you can trust
  8. I've been lucky recently in getting some new permission and it's been based mainly on the good behaviour of my dogs(particulary the lurcher pup) Went away a few weeks ago for a weekend and had to leave the dogs, found a woman near to us who kept dogs on her small bit of land it was £10 a dog a day and they would be out all day with her around her stables and out with her when she went riding. The dogs didn't let me down , when i got back she said they were perfectly behaved around her horses, i've walked the pup through fields with cows since she was12 weeks and it seems to have paid off. I
  9. Chesil beach is supposed tobe producing a few fish a mate had a couple of codling + a nice bass around 6lb a couple of weeks ago, I like the bristol channel Lilstock can be good, walk right along to the left fish below the watch tower 2hrs down to low tide and 2 hrs up its a hard walk across the reef but can produce good fish, fish beside the pipe infront of the car park on the incoming tide you need to cast 120 yards+ to avoid snags. there's a lot of other marks up the channel too that can be good. good luck with where you choose
  10. Thats a great looking dog I'm seriously thinking about putting a whippet over my jack russel bitch, she's lon legged stands about 16" tts she's about 18 months old now and doing well ferreting and general mooching gonna wait till the end of the season then make a decision, but if the pups were to turn out like this one I'd be happy
  11. NICE ONE MATE:thumbs: Got a dog of the same breeding can't wait for the same feeling
  12. I used to work in our tackle shop as a youngster, every year we had a trade stand at the john smiths festival at Evesham, he had a stand there to and his voice got right on your tits after an hour or 2 and that f*cking laugh , but the bloke knows his stuff and as a kid when he was first on the box i thought he was some sort of fishing god. But Robson Green on the other hand knows F*ck all makes anglers look a bunch of tw*ts how the hell he got that prime slot I'll never know other than he's a celebrity unlike someone like Matt Hayes or even.............John Wilson.
  13. I can see 100% why a river keeper of a trout fishery would want pike removed but surely a fish like that would be welcomed into another fishery rather than being killed. If pike like this are being killed up and down the country maybe a service could be offered to remove them and put them in specimen pike lakes similar to specimen carp lakes. I might put the idea forward on dragons den for some backing I'm sure this could be a winner..............
  14. Hi mate

Are you allowed your lurcher yet

  15. Hi mate I struggled too, you need to save your photos on a site called photo bucket they will then automatically downsize. You then will have 4 sets of numbers beside yourphoto use the right hand button on your mouse to copy the 2nd set of numbers then paste this number again use your right hand button ( a list will come u including copy and paste) onto the hunting life site. There you go clear as mud but I hope you get the gist.
  16. Hoping she turns out to be worth every penny
  17. Paid £150 for my pup (beddy whippet) and i'm well pleased with her I think thats about as much as I'd want to pay for a dog my jack was £100. Cracks me up that people are willing to py £500-£800 pound for any cross with poodle in it Jakadoodle, labradoodle, cockerdoodle what ever way you look at it it's an over priced cross breed.......mongrel:blink:
  18. yeah you would think that but its funny how certain colours work , orange being particulary good for cod for example, I still think the tide and your rate of retrieve are the most important factors but it's still strange at 200ft down certain colours will out fish others.
  19. Back to the original thread............... went out last week with a mate on some permision and only saw 2 rabbits ( both on the road) the place is normally crawling with them yet a mate whos got permission 10 miles away say's it's still lifting with em i think your right about them being in isolated pockets.
  20. yeah I agree yesterday the wind was against the tide making the drift difficult thats maybe why the jellies worked as opposed to other lures, lijke you say every days different if it was easy it would be boring eh
  21. Yeah caught stacks of mackeral on silver paper, even bare hooks, although i think you'd struggle on silver paper wrecking in 200ft of water( you never know though) the most fish yesterday were caught on a sh*tty brown coloured jelly the skipper thought it looked crap and you would'nt catch with it ( so did i) but after a couple of fish including the biggest cod it made you change your mind this jelly cost about 50p so like silver paper it doesn't have to be big, flashy expensive lurres everytime.
