    Good shooting must have been a bit damp but you stuck it out and did well.Farmer must be well pleased with you.

    Recently while out shooting geese two of the greylag geese we shot had rings on.Both rings numbers were sent off and we have just got the details back from one ring at the moment.It gave details that the goose was ringed as a nestling in 2014.It was 3 1/2 years old when shot and had been ringed between 6 and 7 miles from where it was shot.

    Once again another day out doing what we want when we want to with who we want too.At least we don`t have to call round folks we don`t see from one year to the next,asking will you come out with me i have no one to go out with now.We never mentioned six of the rabbits had young in when gutted.

    Another two Fridays to go yet for roost shooting.

    Went roost shooting tonight at 1600 hrs till1730.Better than last week as only got 7 last week.They came over the wood tonight just above the trees and the wind was just right to make them come in nicely.Got 12 pigeons tonight but the wood is too big for just me to cover.

    Just shows the cold does not stop a dedicated pigeon shooter getting out.

    Was cold sat in hide waiting for those pigeons.A lot warmer walking about hedgerows looking for rabbit holes.

    We had a couple with young in some a couple of inch and others marble size.

    Still got a few blackthorn in my hands.But another good day out with the ferrets again and they just get better at it.

    A couple of good afternoons and a nice number of pigeons for this time of year.

    A frosty start this morning but we were set up by 0700 and waiting for the geese.It was another good day and we stopped shooting at 1000 when the frost had gone and we had 10 greylag down.A good morning out again and a top up for the freezer.

    Nice video Ian.When i want to clear a few rabbits quick i use the hmr and it does the job nicely.

    Three of us out ferreting today.We met up just after 0800 but we did not get out of vans till 0830 as it was raining and sleet.Rest of the day was fine but cold with a strong wind blowing.We had to dig a few of the rabbits as ferrets kept killing underground.They certainly took some bolting but we had a good day out and ended the day with 12 nice clean rabbits.

    Met up with Stuart for a couple of hours on the geese this morning at different place to last time.There had been a good shower or two of rain during the night.So we just took nets,poles and decoys as it was too wet to drive on the field which had had potatoes in.Packed in when we had 6 as had to make two trips each.Geese still flying about when we left but we might go back there in a couple of weeks no point in overshooting the place.

    Out with Stuart shooting geese this morning for one of his farmers.They were grazing on his winter barley so he wanted them gone.Stuart's first time shooting geese as none of the lads on standby could make it today as only got asked to shoot last night.The standby lads have missed out now as Stuart might be coming again and shooting a few more.

    Out today with Stuart and Peter again ferreting.It was a cold start with a good frost and we met up just after 0900.We netted all the easy holes and left the holes under the hedge.But the rabbits just kept hole hopping under the hedge for most of the day.We ended up shooting,netting and Stuart digging around half of them.But we had a good day out and ended the day with 21 rabbits.Still another few days ferreting at this farm yet.
