    Not wishing to argue and have no axe to grind about salukis, or over who owns what strain/line etc, or what country their dogs come from. But the owners/breeders in this country that have ran their dogs at european brown hares successfully, and have won comps etc, surely will have the better type of saluki, and as a saluki owner yourself, surely you must see that?     I get what you're saying, but dogs bred in this country to run at european brown hares for a fair number of generations, are surely going to be a better proposition than using coo dogs that have been run at desert hares? Don't wish to hear about anyone's dog, pure saluki or mongrel lurcher, failing. But surely, if the dogs that have been bred here for generations are being sent back to coo to improve their strains, doesn't that say that the UK bred dogs, and the UK breeders are doing it better?

    A whippet x killing hares?! Lol, only joking. I've owned a couple of whip/greys and whip/collie/greys with very little collie in em that caught plenty of hares, very fast dogs, but they weren't what you'd call hare 'coursing' dogs. Not much law given, I wanted hares caught quickly, which in the main my dogs did.

    Back to training? She's about 12 wks, the only training she needs is housetraining and a couple of short walks etc to empty herself, and some manners/socialising etc. Don't listen to some of the rubbish about exercise etc for pups you read on here. Nice pup

    Thinking of going down this route again myself, or one of those 3/4 or 2/3rd bred or whatever, collie greys lol, just for the rabbits like I had a 3/4 x she was bollox utter bollox would run when she liked biggest pain in arse ever she was lol Lol must've been too much greyhound in her, we all know how crap they are!     I think you're right about the mental block thing. I'm very good with my english etc, but when it comes to maths I sort of blank off, and always have. As an example, and anyone who wants to mock please feel free lol, I've been around all sorts of running dogs pretty much all my life, but as soon as the 3/4 breds started to be mentioned I could not for the life of me work out how it worked out! I mean, how can a 1/2 bred collie/grey put back to a pure grey be a 3/4 bred?! To me it was 2/3rds greyhound! Lol Anyway, I now know

    Lads, the last few posts are beginning to look like they're ( the other lot, antis etc ) starting to win with the underhand tactics of dividing and causing a rift amongst hunting people, for their gain! I'm probably as pessimistic about the ban as anyone, but I've still voted etc for the repeal and would hate to see any more rural ways of life thrown to one side for the sake of all this modern cuddly, tree hugging, save our endangered squirrel, fox, hare, mink, blue whale etc complete BOLLOX!! Think positive

    That is my biggest gripe on here. I can tolerate incorrect spelling as I know how the words should be spelt, but when someone writes a post containing maybe 10 -15 sentences long with no punctuation, capitals etc, well, I now normally get to maybe the second sentence and mentally shut off! Lol
