  1. Yeah you have a point there, but some of whin's posts, just one off the top of my head, were f***ing belters! Lol
  2. Lads, the last few posts are beginning to look like they're ( the other lot, antis etc ) starting to win with the underhand tactics of dividing and causing a rift amongst hunting people, for their gain! I'm probably as pessimistic about the ban as anyone, but I've still voted etc for the repeal and would hate to see any more rural ways of life thrown to one side for the sake of all this modern cuddly, tree hugging, save our endangered squirrel, fox, hare, mink, blue whale etc complete BOLLOX!! Think positive
  3. That is my biggest gripe on here. I can tolerate incorrect spelling as I know how the words should be spelt, but when someone writes a post containing maybe 10 -15 sentences long with no punctuation, capitals etc, well, I now normally get to maybe the second sentence and mentally shut off! Lol
  4. Lol really enjoying this thread, as I said, some belting dogs and pics
  5. Cheers mate , if only they had better feet, drive and could run on terrain slightly rougher than a bowling green. lol, I've owned some good lurchers and good whippets and a lot of shit lurchers and shit whippets lol but never tarred them all with the same brush.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Bxu7YjokBI good n bad in all breeds, whippets are no different ,even on bowling greens with rock piles lol Lads, I hope you know I was being facetious and rhetorical with my 'bowling green' etc remarks?! Lol. I know how good, tough etc many whippets are, I love
  6. Yep, cracking thread this. If only whippets had better feet, more guts and drive, could run on terrain slightly rougher than bowling greens, had better stamina etc etc etc, I might be tempted by one! Lol. Some belting dogs on here and some seriously good action shots which show, hopefully, to alot of people with hardly any experience of em, just how good whippets are
  7. FFS all this and every political party WAKE UP!!!
  8. There's nothing wrong with foxes ( they're all cuddly and pose no threat at all ) lol. The fact that they've run riot and put human beings in danger etc etc etc doesn't really matter! Come on we're talking about 'cuddly' foxes here!
  9. Trench, I get what you're saying and agree like I said, but I've said before that to me it's always been 'hunting' not 'sport,' and the sooner 'sport' is dropped from hunting of any sort, the better. Not looking for an argument, but to me the word 'sport' shouldn't be used in conjunction with hunting. And as gaz said, it offends alot of people, and that's really the point I was making. By dropping that one word I think we'd get more people on our side
  10. We do not have to apologise for the term "sport". That term is used deliberately. our quarry has a sporting chance to escape, and should be given the respect it deserves. I take a great deal of enjoyment from field sports, but take the responsibilities that come with the freedom to partake in that enjoyment very seriously. Just as seriously as those who partake in football or any other "sport". Where many chose to follow their sport at places such as Old Trafford, or Twickenham, we chose to follow ours in the fields, hills and fens. And as much as don't ask those who follow football to justify
  11. Some very good points raised in this thread, and a couple by trenchfoot and timmy k excellent. Would it not be even better to drop the word 'sport' out of any literature, campaigns, stalls etc concerned with hunting and the countryside? I've said before I know very little of politics generally, but I know alot of people, non hunters etc, are more sympathetic/understanding about hunting in general if 'sport' isn't used in the conversation, as the very word says we're doing it for fun, having a laugh etc, which is another piece of ammunition antis pick up on and use against hunters, shooters and
  12. rich its all about the $ big big money on the races in quatar and dubai very wealthy young arabs with money to burn ,im not giving you the bollox i know one man he has at least dogs they are just toys !!. becouse most are sal crosses from syria Do you mean greyhound crosses? yes some arabs inport greys from ireland for breeding Not a dig, but why are they importing greyhounds to breed to their salukis if the salukis are already fast enough? Doesn't make sense to me. the y dont give a shit about salukis they want dogs that wi
  13. I see your point mate, but I don't really buy that. The countries, states etc, which collectively cover many many thousands of square miles, that salukis are native to will have several different lines, strains, breeding etc. They would't need to add greyhound, or anything else, to widen the gene pool. Like I said, not having a dig, but I don't see the point in adding greyhound if their dogs are already fast enough

  15. Lol daywalker. I don't know too much about pures, but I'm only aware of smooth and feathered. Think the woolly ones , are the ones over here that have beddy, norfolk etc in their breeding
  16. He could have anything in him to be fair his sire came from County Durham as a deer/grey and 26tts and his dam was bought as a deer/grey x whippet and just looked like a broken coated whippet at 21 tts she is one of the gamest dogs I've ever seen would tackle anything just lacked stamina which mine seems to have in abundance so hopefully I've got the best out of both parents what Evers in him he's 22 n half tts at present don't know if he'll grow much more but signs are he will make a good all round dog Hope he comes good for you
  17. Hi mate, it's not just your dog. Many young dogs take a bit of time picking up. As you say, at 10 months he's still a young dog, and alot of young dogs aren't really comfortable about striking at something until they've managed to sort out their balance and coordination out first. At 10 months he'll still be learning all that running, balance etc. And all dogs are different, some will learn/develope quicker than others. Hope that was a bit of help. It may be the pic, but he looks to have something else in his breeding? Anyway, nice pup a t b
  18. Stalking?! Is there collie in them? Only kidding, I know plenty of dogs of all sorts stalk, not just collies lol. I do like the look of these pups, and they look to have a cracking coat coat and feet mate but well put together when you look at the litter. Nice. Coat looks similar to my lad's pat pup. It's sort of smooth/broken, but harsh as feck
  19. Yep, her name was Blondi. Just googled it, she was given to him as a gift in 1941 by Martin Borman.
