All made excellent workers, but the dog was awesome. But like you say, they

I agree with baw, salukis ARE shit, slow, plodding, following a hare where the hare wants to go till it runs out of stamina pieces of shit

  10. Don't know about red deer but they can consistantly take fallow bucks, I've read that on here as well
  11. 1. Whippets can't kill a fox. 2. Whippets are no good for lamping. 3. Whippets are fragile. 4. Whippets have poor stamina. 5. Whippets are no good for hares. 6. Whippets can't take knocks. All of the above is true, as I've also read it on here
  12. How is that dog bred mick? l like the look of him, carries himself well and looks confident
  13. Yeah got lots of pics but not a clue how to put em up . Total spaz when it comes to all this modern technology caper . Got to try a bit harder, as I've promised the guy that I got my pup from, who's a member on here, that I'd send him pics as well, to see how well she's coming on. Sent him some off my phone, but they aren't great. Try to get my son down today to see if he can sort it out. 15. hi [bANNED TEXT] iv just got a wheton grayxbedlingtonx deerhound shes 9 weeks old made up with her i woz told to whatch deerhounds coz they make tall dogs but her mum woz only small and shes the spit of her mum so hopeing she will make about 24tts I wouldn't worry too much about height, seen 30 tts 1st x deer/greys picking rabbits up as good as most other types. Obviously not ideal ferreting dogs, but will do most other jobs no problem. Got a 1 year old pup now sire 1st x collie/grey 25 tts, dam 1st x deer/grey 26.5 tts, and she's outgrown both of them, ending up at a fraction under
  16. Don't know about 'ultimate' fox dogs, but most of the really good, consistant ones I've seen have been lurcher x lurcher, collie/grey x deer/grey and the very best one was a first x deer/ grey, owned by a good friend of mine in the late 's, a dog called merlin, who also caught pretty much everything he was ran on, with what looked like comparative ease
  17. Sure is the best i think Love going to this one, always meet some real characters lol Trying to get the whole weekend there, but definitely sunday
  18. Wise words, don't be tempted to rush things. The longer you give em time to mature and come to themselves, the longer you will enjoy working em. Everyone in so much of a rush with dogs these days, which is one of the main reasons for so many potentially good dogs being ruined and passed on, i m o
  19. I seem to remember someone on this site put some pics up of his collie crosses a while back. Not sure if they were 3/4, but it looked as though they certainly were more than capable of taking any quarry. Think it was undisputed
  20. I asked to photograph his dogs, as he lives about 15 miles from me . . . i'm a photographer, its what i do . . . . unsure of the kind of chicks you hang around with if a request to photograph your dogs is considered a chat up line?!?! If i'd put "nice dogs, lets meet for a walk and full penetration " . . . then yes i could understand your shock at my brashness. that told him hannah.but i dont know about full penetration i just aint that kind of boy any way i have been in turkey for the last two weeks and with all that food i all ready have a sore arse
  21. @ above. Same as female athletes. Being so fit and carrying no fat interferes with their oestrus cycle. But also some bitches never come into season, happened to a mate of mine's 3/4 deerxgrey many years ago. We wanted to cover her with a very useful dog I owned at the time, and waited about 4 years for her to break down but she never did.
  22. Got to agree with that, I can't remember ever seeing a whippet with bad feet. And you'd get more runs in a given amount of time, as they recover quicker after a run than any other type of running dog I've seen. And I wouldn't worry about the fact that they don't have the thickest coat/skin, barbed wire will rip any dog, regardless of the amount of coat it has, if it hits it with enough speed, and have yet to see one not enter cover to make a catch. Also seen lurchers of all types look less than happy in bad wind/rain, not just whippets. I think whippets are great and very underrated
