Is johnnymuddler still on here? His posts were amusing, and more often than not pretty thought provoking, and also helped these long summers seem to be not as long and boring. Man in't pub was a good friend and mentor to him lol

Me.... shithole if I'm honest yeah,how does him,his brother,sister and mum live in a 2 bed and his kennels are just sheds but what did you think of his dogs.? Nothing as changed then, went with a mate about 18 years ago to line his saluki x grey x bull I bred , not a bad bloke and his dogs looked well but feck me he can go on . when i got my 1st one he just showed me photo after photo for about an hour and when on the phone he talks for england but he makes time for everyone and is an intresting bloke.i really enjoyed my time with dogs he bred. Looks like it's got a great coat on it mf. Not a 1st cross pointer/deerhound though? I think it's a deer/grey by GWP. I've only ever seen it in photos on here though. He is a GWP X Saluki bull grey lads, not a record breaker but good daytime dog great nose marks well they make a good terrier man's dog. How is he for agility mate? The only gwp x grey lurcher I've seen was on a youtube vid, didn't look too agile, but did catch

Was batan's dog a 1st cross gsd/grey? I read somewhere years ago that it wasn't, I think it might've been in the shooting times, as it was called then, countryman's weekly now

I'm not the best shot in the country, but I more than get by. I'm not the best dogman in the country, but I more than get by. Why does someone have to be a failure at something before they take up another aspect of hunting, sport or hobby etc? Oh yeah, I'm not the best angler in the country either, but I more than get by there too. Not being big headed either. I think if more people took dogs, shooting etc, and themselves, a little less seriously or competetively, they'd probably have a little more success and enjoyment out of it all. Toodle pip chums lol

I can only echo what villaman has said, even down to the preference for pellets. I'm still getting well over 120 shots with H+N and JSB, and over 130 shots with AA fields. Power is the same, give or take, as villaman's as well, though slighly higher with AA FIELDS than H+N FTT and JSB EXACT Will not be buying another pcp

his he a pure whippet , or something else in him .?Why do you think there might be something else in there bird?yeah had me thinking too,lol...hes a pure whippet small skinny but mad as hell.they don't need anything added to them to toughen them up. Apart from thicker skin more weight a better coat and more jaw power .....

Lol I've had a few whippets over the years, all pure whippet, but only two not being kc registered. And when out in the field, all of them being afraid of nothing, and keen as f**k to get at and get on with whatever got up. All this 'whippets need toughening up' is a pile of shite, they don't need anything added to them to toughen them up. Anyway, that looks a nice dog jigsaw

Plenty of meat in one go and really nice to eat too when cooked right. I still love a jugged hare too, cooked in a rich gravy with a bit of red wine or guinness in it and served with mash and greens. I hear that a lot of places where I had happy times running hares in Lincolnshire they have become almost extinct since the ban. What a sad reflection on modern life.
