  1. And then you've got dogs, without saluki blood, with so much natural speed, that they're on a hare in seconds, and not from kickups, and the hare, even after it goes up another gear, just can't shake the dog off, and gets caught. When I used to go regularly with my best dog, slips of between 30 - 50 yards would've been the norm, and he caught loads. Seen plenty of coursing dogs, and dozens and dozens of coursing vids where the dog is slipped as soon as the hare gets up, and the dog still gets dragged around for 3, 4 or whatever minutes
  2. Ran my big bulky dog with a few lads that thought they had fast dogs, he left them in his wake from start ?
  3. Well if you only bother with rabbits, I'd definetly go for a straight whippet. That'd be my choice. And if she's already in season, you'll probably have a greater chance of putting a whippet, over her. Some cracking whippets around at moment. Have a look on the 'whippets, coursing, racing, working' thread. Cracking dogs, and some good knowlegeable owners. Good luck fella ?
  4. Can't really tell from pics, but is she 1st x beddy/grey? Tidy size if she is
  5. Why not go for a straight whippet mate? Plenty around that size. Think you'd be hard pushed to find a whippet x greyound dog that size. Most first cross dogs I've seen, have been 23 - 25 tts
  6. Glad you said catching, not coursing. Was the same myself with my old dog. Very powerfully built, and just looked too plain, big and bulky. People that scoffed at me and thought I was exaggerating about him, went very quiet after they saw him catch. Massive difference between hare catching and hare coursing. Oh yeah, dog was 26" tts and almost 80lb in weight, fit. Caught me loads of hares, and every one of them would've been before about 25 seconds
  7. Adam C, chances are some ot that white, or even all of it, will disappear as the pups grow. They'll probably make better workers then lol. Good luck with them fella. And I know it's hard not to react to some people on here, but you certainly DON'T need to explain yourself to anyone ?
  8. Talking about pro status. He too small really to be a heavyweight. Not a fan of his, but he can fight ?
  9. Give it another 3 weeks, and that cat will NOT be so smug and self confident! Lol
  10. Not trolling R T, don't even really know what that means lol. Yes, a good night of boxing all round really. Just saying as I see things ?
  11. Lol don't matter what he weighed in 'trying' to be a heavyweight. Facts are he's a light heavy/cruiser, same as bellew
  12. Patterson was around 14 stone, and so was haye
  13. And patterson beat better fighters when he moved up
  14. Yep, and so was floyd patterson
  15. Haye was NEVER a proper heavyweight. Same as bellew aint. When, and if bellew challenges a proper heavyweight, he WILL be found wanting, and knocked on his arse. Not saying he's not a fighter, cos he is, but he's nowhere near to being a good 'legitimate' heavyweight
  16. Yeah, but he's still far from being a proper heavyweight. Last time anyone went up from cruiserweight go up to heavyweifht, was holyfield. DON'T try to tell me me bellew is of that calibre!
  17. R T, do you actually think hughie fury is any good? Serious question
  18. Bellew at best is a small cruiserweight. He doesn't, and will NOT belong with heavyweights
  19. There's a kennels in holland I think, can't think of the name now, that breeds kc fox terriers. And the smooth coated dogs they breed are superb looking dogs. Way better than any british fox terriers I've seen. Not snipy headed at all, and got a proper workmanlike structure
  20. Well, I'm gonna stick my neck out here. Whyte beats parker by knockout, then fights joshua, and wins. First fight with those two was pretty good, and I've a feeling whyte has learnt more since losing to joshua, than joshua has learnt in his last couple of fights
  21. You aint been on here for about 2+ years ?
  22. Scent?! Smells familiar ☺
