Who knows if there full of parasites but vaccine as Prevention is key each way you look at it on both sides of the argument a lot of people with dogs don’t worm enough but farmers are just pissing money up the wall if there happy to let everyone with a dog shit all over there grazing pasture
-
We already know are neck

It’s easy to be a critic at everyone else on a open forum an sound like the voice or a god of bedlingtons or beddy Lurchers but if your not trying with a resolution on the matter to improve what’s you keep or what’s out there available for others to keep with what’s being moaned about your actually apart of the problem an a opinion is worth nothing but nil an void an just waffle to a audience every man that works a bedlington or beddy lurcher has to play his/her part accurately to improve what’s available with no kennel blindness or bumming up his own dogs Behind a screen....we all play
-
Credit I shall not give them??There tossers in my eyes but we should all play our part
-
Dog poo can pass on disease an parasites to grazing animals like sheep/cows that ends up in the food chain I’m no do Gooder though I wouldn’t say they are clueless tbh they’ve obviously done there home work on the matter cattle an sheep have Hurd vaccination as a prevention but if said dog owners let there dogs crap all over the place it’s pointless any farms having a vaccine program as a prevention of disease an parasites there’s not a lot of cash in it for grazing meat animal production farmers there not all rich farmers some run skint most of the year with just enough in the bank to see to
-
You sound a bit like me sheepchaser never put another dogs collar on another dog bad luck an all that ??
-
Oh yeah we got loads of them signs by us pretty much on every gate way somebody’s gone mad old people with there little pet dog are the worst for leaving there shit I’ve seen it a million time they get funny as f**k with ya when you point out to them

-
I like this strong stuff gear it’s nice stuff it’s just out my price range what I’m willing to pay to be honest what you pay for these collars I just use cheap traditional lurcher collars there £6 from game fairs my dogs average about 2 adult collars in there lifeTime
-
Cracks me up anyone with a lurcher becomes a illegal hare courser when these signs go up??makes me laugh it’s usually ramblers with the biggest voice on the matter there the same people who move from a town to village/country side locations an moan like f**k about everything rural from cockerels crowing In the distance to mud on the road
-
We get all the rural crime signs by us they just say something like police surveillance in the area for rural crime
-
Let’s see your collie greyhounds
poxon replied to OneManAndHisDog's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Yeah because rabbits are slow ???? -
Mine was similar cross just less collie more running dog in how mines bred I’ll be honest she was alright at catching them no trouble at all just a fanny at getting the job done useless tbh for that job but a great edible catch dog Day or night but with a bit of terrier blood Was a game changer it’d be a choice well made that you’d not regret
-
depends on what you want out the dog an if you want to stick with just collie type if just collie type a half x or 3quarters bred but if you want to keep to old school type then bedlington x of some sort usually adds nice to collie crosses that’s what I’ve found any way it livens the cross up lovely easy to train live with and work an tend not to have the negatives collies have an bedlingtons have
-
If she’s the best you’ve had an best finder does it not make viable sense to find a stud with the same qualitys f1 or 3quarter bred to stamp a type bred for your personal needs
-
We breed for good nose in ours none have had a bad nose to be fair thanks to the beddy blood an collie they all seem capable of finding there own gear but I think that is the disadvantage if people breed back to sight hound to many times in a continuous row it stuffs some of the Base blood by taking away to much the reasoning for the small drop of collie in my first gen on the grans side was to iron out the stubbornness as I already know f1s tend to be stubborn sods as a rule it worked for us the mating gelled they were really easy to train an none of that collie sulking the second gen that ar
-
cheers mate so do we ?? Only time will tell though I’ve even bunged me own dog out from getting put back in the breeding from the first gen ?pretty ruthless hey
-
I’m no expert this is just a opinion that’s worth nowt I’ve not line bred beddy greyhounds I’ve type bred we used to buy them in. but I’ve had a bit of personal experience with f1 bedlington whippets an line bred bedlington whippets An straight whippets but it depends how the line breeding in the bedlington whippets is bred they tend to be faster than f1s with a lot more variables in coat speed an hight build but there’s not a lot in it it’s still heavy whippet based but that all depends on what your breeding to what stamp/type an what for? with our bedlington hybrids we’ve breed to type

We have our own little circle now mate with bedlington Lurchers that’s we’re my passion lays with the Lurchers I don’t have nothing to do with straight bedlingtons no more it’s just Lurchers for me but we will come to a stopend at some point we’re bedlington blood will need to go back in but I like to think we’re good for the next 10yrs or so what we got planned that’s if it works out but there’s always the option to jump on someone else’s beddy type to put back in that’s our thoughts
-
No! Most definitely no mate. My waffle can be taken by any that wants to take it onboard it’s up to them how they take it if they want it it’s nothing more than what I see an yours is what you see they sound very similar don’t they? people can make there own minds up there not silly all they need to do is look around them at the state of beddy an beddy x world it’ll give them all the info they need to know on the matter an how it sits if people don’t talk people will think it’s all good there for attracting more money spinners to our favoured crosses pushing it down the road in the wrong dir

I’ve seen a few an worked with a few that were regulars this was pre ban but none in recent times bar a dog I used as stud he was very good an worked very regular but I didn’t find this dog by my self one of the ex admin off the working beddy group found him he know exactly the type I wanted as I’d had a private chat with him I had a big old dummy spit out?? on the group asking what kind of fake ass group is this not one decent f1 bedlington greyhound on here an your all bumming them up I was dropped on what I still believed was the cream of the crop (just my opinion) I got exactly what I wan

More chance of a quality bred litter of beddy lurcher to bedlington lurcher than quality f1s Mate There could be ten blokes on here all with greyhounds of various degrees of worth wanting to breed a litter of good f1s but finding that bedlington that’s not lied about or bummed up an actually worked an worthy will be the biggest challenge of all but all 10 blokes could easily put a litter of f1s on the ground if they wished as greyhounds are 2 a penny the fact that there in demand an no one is nocking litters out of decency speaks for its self in current times
