Morton have a sit down me old mate a cuppa t an a couple of biscuits your end up giving ones self a heart attack! your trying to school people what they already know I’ve give my opinion on my thoughts of bedlingtons based on my bit of experience for the nowt that it’s worth you’ve pretty much given back the same opinion just worded differently with a few fancy words chucked in to mine but I think many have noticed if a opinion don’t Match your own you get upset I’ve seen it many a times on here from ya fella I think the real person here looking for internet fame is your self fella by tryin

Good chance it would of been worse I would of thought an lasted a lot longer
-
Definitely fella he wouldn’t be able to think clear or rational that’s for sure...bloody cake eating vegan as well!

Mate if there was no ban an bedlington x studs were none existent to put back in id probably be the same bull or Wheaton but probably bull/greyhound x saluki greyhound in to what I already have as I’ve a mate I lamp with who has this cross it’s a very honest dog. My cousin used to run a bedlington greyhound with a drop of deerhound in it it was a wicked single handed foxer he had a few good dogs in his time before retirement to just small busher types he said the dog he misses the most was this dog it was a proper character but easy going but could switch to a foxes worst night just on sight o

Produced some good dogs tong for a bit of everything from good all round working dogs to obedience dogs to assistances dogs even had one I bred win the cross breeding class at Croft’s How ironic is that ????Mine I kept (the white bitch hasn’t really made what I’d hoped but I can’t slag her off to much as she’ll work to ferrets retrieve shot hare track deer an work the lamp mowing down rabbits she’s not keen at retrieving shot fox is her down fall although she surprised me a couple of weeks ago she’s starting to build a bit of back bone. Mate I’m no longer on fb or any groups the last fb group
-
Wasn’t a straight beddy it was a f1 bedlington greyhound I used I used a real good dog from up Manchester way that had age an experience on its side wasn’t a bummed up internet dog the guy was as genuine a dog man as I’ve ever met the use of the dog was sorted as it wasn’t at stud by a ex administrator of the bedlington group that gets on here
-
Honestly Couldn’t tell ya mate I’d heard enough waffle I jacked ?
-
Me no speak no English

I had a rosset man when I was looking for a decent stud I got offered of the working bedlington group supposed working stud.f**k me I got photo bombed off one guy with about 200 photos of a dog stood with rossets an trophy’s from various shows I asked to see the dog work got no reply and asked for some photos of work an kept getting replys saying £250 stud fee I just said no thanks I want a real working bedlington greyhound that’s actually working the field not the show ring the guy got the hump with me in the end I said no proof not going anywhere near my bitch
-
Lucky you????it’s all luck mate you have finally got what I’ve been dribbling about on this thread ?luck some will some won’t an its all personal preference on the chances you are willing to take in your personal preference for the dog you want
-
a honest one at that ????
-
Not anti beddy I love a good beddy x my favourite cross just anti shit going in to them
-
Exactly that ??Hard finding one were the owner don’t chat a load of shit to big his own dog up but we got there in the end
-
I’ve not said that your trying to put words in my mouth there’s bound to be the odd dog out there doing them it would be silly of me to claim otherwise I’ve said there a gamble in these times with the amount of shit bedlingtons bred out ther and you have agreed on this your self! so why would anyone want to keep starting at the beginning with a f1 when up an running beddy Lurchers are there doing that job ?? (Just my opinion for the nowt it’s worth) I’d not be up to take a risk on a f1 not for me as most make nothing more than rabbiting dogs id rather take my risk out of single handed lurc
-
I use the 9mm they seem alright to be fair but great fun to have in ya pocket one of my mates is a crack shot with a katty that f****r don’t need dogs with his kill rate he said if you want to get any good practice practice is the key
-
Not half Breds there lurcher to lurcher couldn’t tell you what lines the beddys in there breeding are from as it wasn’t important there lines I was only interested in what the dogs that were going in were doing in the field rather than there base lines
-
So true Sean same I started taking a katty out more it don’t take long for a young dog to pick up what’s going on I’m a crap shot with a katty tbh But I have a go but it’s a good crack the minute the dog sees you stop an draw to take a shot they freeze to see what your aiming at the minute they hear the bands there looking for shot quarry great skill for a dog to have makes for a more handy dog
-
Every lurcher breeding/mating is a chance breeding some will make it some won’t that’s fact reputation shouldn’t need to come in to it there’s no one to impress in this game but your self It doesn’t need to be a f1 Only people that fool there selfs in to reading books like the stuff JG writes An the like giving it all the f1 pea in pod talk an taking it as gospel. to be honest if I had the option of straight beddy to greyhound or a hybrid beddy terrier doing the job to a greyhound I’d take the hybrid as that’s more of a beddy than a straight bedlington doing the job it’s self
-
You can get a various type in most Lurchers or long dogs there all different to a degree of any mix but none of that’s to important it don’t have to be what people with f1s keep going on about that peas in a pod that’s only there as a sales pitch but the more you look in to it there’s variation in that with hight an build workability the only thing I can see about the old pea in a pod thing is there all rough coated but even that has been proven not always true as I’ve seen people on here say about a smooth coat pop up in f1 beddy whippets but long as there doing what they been bred for who ca
-
That’s a bit like asking how many beddys work sheep or used as stamina dogs for running the desert or used as a fighting dog I know beddys have been used as a fighting dogs but not in our life time I think it all stems down to each dog type you’ve named plays it’s roll in the production of Lurchers you pick your base blood for your quarry that your aiming to hunt the bedlington lurcher as always been the in between master of none taker of all
-
That’s why I’d not buy a f1 pup as much as I like them ??I’d rather others do the buying am testing an use what I need when I need it. In my eyes the f1 is only a starting point for future beddy hybrids an not the finished article in f1 form the goal post as definitely changed with beddys over the years hence why I think the beddy bred lurcher to lurcher is the way forward in it’s type
-
That’s my thought as well fella people will say but why from a earth dog well in my opinion a hard type will work rabbit an Bush anything in cover as well as dug to
-
Surly they would want to know what type of beddy is being used in the cross there buying for the job they want it for it’d be short sighted to leave it just to chance an hope for the best it’d be like getting a sparky to do a plasterers job if it don’t do the job blame the labour
