That last bit hit me about how I have become to see the beddy lurcher world....when you have a type breeding to type you don’t try reinventing the wheel....that’s true words there fella noticed this with the bedlington lurcher hybrids once you get type dont jump back to the beginning With a f1 Go with a type that’s the same that’s mowing every thing down type bred to type bred only go back to a f1 when the chapter needs new blood an only breed out the best of that breeding to put back in to the type breds Down the road. All these dudes in the bedlington x game are crazy always wanting a f1 Pea

That’s what tut thinternet all about come on the forum have a bit of banter an a chat just to waist time give a couple of people a bit of stick expect a bit of a cranking back an move on don’t think every ones your enemy just because of said bit of stick it’s just to pass time I mean there’s only so many times you can say nice dog or how’s it bred on a forum. With hunting there’s not really a lot to talk about tbh you either hunt or you don’t Unless you want to catch the hunting life’s imagination with a full blown story of a massive hunting expedition

Some of the adds off this preloved crack me up and that Pets4Homes the place is full of chancers an peddling c**ts I occasionally look on there at some stuff I look at an think I’m sure I’ve seen this add before it tends to be the same people breeding stuff an advertising on there an they float between there own sales user name or there misses name!one that got me was a while ago was the deerhound greyhound x pups Using a platts dog as the sire I looked at it how I read it was the platts dog was the sales pitch for the pups I thought to my self a bit of a strange add as it stated bred for own

Beddy greyhound x bull greyhound or Wheaton greyhound
poxon replied to tank34's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Bet there was a few about at one point when bedlington x Lurchers were used more as a vermin dog before the bull x craze but I think it’s that people just say if it’s a smooth cross it’s a bull x it simplifies thinks but if rough they’d just say beddy lurcher I think bedlington bull x would a very handy cross if I was only aiming at one target this would be more than likely be my weapon of choice -

Dan I think a lot of lurcher lads are in the same boat as what you have described ie family an day to day life plus having a dog that will not get as much action as previous dogs times have definitely changed fella for us all it’s just others are afraid to admit it! Especially over the Internet they feel it’ll damage there lurcher world credibility as a dog man an continue having a number of dogs even though they ain’t got enough work to go round to warrant them all as workers! -
I think pups reared on plenty of mutton do good my first litter went through a whole sheep ? with there dam in 6weeks being fed it once a day along side other foods they were lapping mutton mince an powdered lac milk up by 2weeks old of age by 6weeks old I was giving them meaty bone to keep them entertained
-
Said I’m doing him a good turn but is all I see is him doing me the favours tbh I don’t often get a call asking for much help round his land but the minute a call comes in I drop what I’m doing to go assist
-
I take mutton or still bornes from a local sheep farmer for free ex breeding stock I get a couple a year off him normally in my deal I’ve got with him normally all I have to do is butcher them he does the rest it’s only when he goes through his stock rather than paying the hunt to collect or taking the mutton to be bought up cheap by pakis cheap at auction I pay for them in Labour or if he needs a hand with anything

I float about on bag crap I feed a hand full a day to each of mine if I’ve no table scraps to give I feed a average of 75% raw the rest scraps or biscuits Im on a bag of skinners working 23 I’ve had the f***ing thing going for like ever I alway check when I buy the food with the longest shelf like because a bag of food last me forever with my 3

Should be a handy cross fella what ever way you decided to go as there all already handy crosses to begin with ?? I spoke to a guy a few months ago that dropped a bit of bull blood in to his beddy greyhounds a while ago he said even now with that bit of bull blood as come a long way in the cross it still shows through an the dogs all still look like bedlington xs he said a drop of bull blood goes a long way -
I used to get a lot from bulmers it works out about the same price as that but it was only if they are delivering in my area when I order from them it’s a big order to fill my chest freezers up but let it run really low to clear them to the point I shot my self in the foot to be paying eBay shop prices?? With what’s going on in the world at the minute. My dogs are not fussy there yam anything down them they have been to the point we’re there sick of eating rabbit though ??

Most raw dog food suppliers get there products from abattoirs an butchers under contract an flip there waist product in to profit to the likes of us raw feeders the price of raw dog food now takes the piss I’ve no longer got a steady suppler I’ve used a few times eBay shop distributors just to get what I need when stuck I noticed that most beef mince worked out something like £2.26 a 450g block it’s day light robbery human grade is £1.50 for 500g mince in Aldi some of this abattoir butchers waist produce is fetching a premium it’s value is more than human grade
