  1. Fishing for me too and obviously keeping the dogs fit, anything to keep myself out of trouble (and out of the way of the Mrs)...
  2. what breeding is he mate? looks a nice stamp.
  3. My sentiments exactly, if they can catch a lurcher they should be in the fcuking olympics, not fcuking up dogs to be sold on at 18 months old "through no fault of their own"
  4. Scum B**tards, hope you get him back mate , hes a fine looking dog.
  5. Had the same trouble with my mates spaniel pup, i got round it by bending down to take the dummy from the dogs mouth as it brought it back. I held the dummy with both hands in the dogs mouth and told him to hold it and then after a few seconds told him to leave it (dead), then loosened my grip and allowed the dog to release the dummy, after a couple of days doing this (3-4 times a day) the dog soon got the idea of what i wanted now he holds the game for as long as my mate wantshe will even carry it along at my mates side with no problems what so ever. Hope this helps mate. Shadowstalker. For
  6. treats are for dogs who havent bonded with the owner/handler, the only way is to spend time with the dog, you will only ever get out what you put in, if you dont teach them they wont know. Its not the dogs fault its the handler.
  7. How old is the bitch? how long have you had her?
  8. My 3 are definately pets then workers, i wouldnt want it any other way, they will be with me till they die, i owe them that much for the enjoyment and commitment they have given me over the years.
  9. I think the point is mate that some ideots on here want to run pups at foxes, not fully grown, mature dogs. I think the object of their desire is to get a pup beaten and scarred up as much as possible so it "Looks Good" but does not necessarily do the job.
  10. Very fine looking pup mate, an absolute credit to you, atb Shadowstalker
  11. Seems like a bit of a competition to me, of how fast people can fcuk their pups up putting them on quarry that could destroy a pups confidence in seconds...
  12. Curse of the furry magnet mate, all blokes want whats at the top of womens thighs and women know it, stand ur ground mate, i once re homed a collie because my Mrs said to, worst thing i ever did, and i told her never again, i now have 3 dogs and she wouldnt dare tell me to get rid now she knows which side her bread is buttered.
  13. I have a 3 year old spaniel and a 10 month old Lurcher, i take both of these dogs out for at least an hour on their own every day and in that hour there are about 15 mins of training, (retrieves, sit, stays and whatever else i fancy) i dont do any more than 15 mins because i dont want to bore the dogs i like to keep every thing as a game and as a result i find the dogs respond very well to whatever i want them to do. I also have a 6 year old jack russel, I only walk this dog, the only training it has ever had is to find hidden rabbit skins as a pup and recalls other than that it does whatever
  14. keep your eye out on the bay there is allways cheep lamps on there. nice looking pup and well done. ther wa sa bloke on the for sale section on this site selling all hs gear a couple of days ago, you could have a look, you may get lucky. all the best with the pup mate...Shadow
  15. you only get out of a dog what gets put in half the time its not the dogs that are shit Well said mate, exactly my view.
  16. Has any one fished for trout on LLandegfedd reservior recently? If so how did you get on and what are the fish taking? I have a comp coming up at that venue soon and want to go prepared.
  17. My lurcher would drop the first and chase the second, but he is only a pup, my spaniel on the other hand ignors everything if she is retrieving and with any luck i will have the lurcher this steady too
  18. Nice pics boyo's, keep up the good work...
  19. Patience, perseverence, knowledgeable, understanding, and trusting...
  20. dont rush the pup mate you will do more harm than good, do a few dummy retrievs with her over the next two or three months and then let her run on a few half to three quarter grown bunnies, she should come into her own by next season, all the best Shadowstalker...
