  2. This is my working springer bitch Fern, She absolutely trashes any cover at all will go anywhere i send her and do anything i ask, she is a pleasure to own and work and is the envy of many beaters on the shoots i work in Dorset the keeper loves her, but it took many hors of training to get her to this standard, but its worth it (oh and she is also KC registered)

  4. Outstanding mate, I hope you find the owner, she could be eternally grateful
  5. That the best you can up with ...arsewipe ...shock collar is the final straw .. Don't know what the answer is mate but i've just taken a a similar cross of 8/9 months old and she's the same ..think its youthful exuberance and a willingness to hunt ...patience might be your best option ..basic training on recall little and often and the penny should drop soon enough ..well here's hoping anyway you could try calling the dog when shes about 20 - 30 yards away from you then turn and walk in the opposite direction, when she realises you arnt following her she will rush back to you, after a f

  10. I had a jill get out 2 days ago, she pullued the hutch door into the hutch to open it up (clever fcuker) and sods law she went to the only kennel i have where the JRT doesnt like ferrets, found her in the morning half eaten. I was gutted, Lesson learned though all doors modified so they cant be pulled in.
  11. Lovely looking dog mate and some nice pics too.

  15. Now what would be the point in wasting a perfectly good vote on those racist Nazi pricks 99% of the country are against everything that retard Nick Griffin comes out with, you cant be serious about trying to get them in, even they wont lift the hunting ban at least voting for one of the main parties you get a chance of pulling the country back to where it should be (out of this benefit seeking , nanny culture yobo depression its in at the moment).
  16. If we caught fish every time we went out it would be called catching not Fishing. Thats where the excitement and fun in fishing comes from its the not knowing that does it for me.
  17. Welcome mate, there is always something going on on here.
  18. I want to see your starter pistol, so are you willing to write a young dog off because it hasent been given the chance to become acostum to the noise working around a gun???
  19. Is this opinion formed from your actual experience? My actual experience is that they are actually successful at stopping nuisance barking that upsets the actual neighbours, when no other method could, thus saving my dogs from the needle. Did you have your actual dogs from pups and did you spend actual time with them training them basic manners for example not to bark when in the kennel, every dog i have ever owned has learnt that time not spent with me is best spent sleeping. If you do inherit a problem older dog i dare say that with perseverence and patience and a little bit of underst
  20. Overexposure to the noise is not the answer here, what i would do is start back at basics, use a starter pistol(much quieter), find something the dog loves (retrieving), play with the dog and get it all excited, throw the ball (in my case) and as the dog runs off for the retrieve fire the starter pistol, with a bit of luck the dog wont even notice, slowly change the order in which you do things so that in the end (after a few weeks) you can fire the starter pistol then throw the ball. hope this helps... ATB, Shadowstalker.
  21. Shock collars are for dog handlers who want instant results, traing a dog not to do something takes time, shocking him doesnt train him!!!
  22. Reading your post it sounds to me that subconciously you have decided on a Saluki/Grey x Colli/Grey Dog pup you need to get a dog that will suit the ground your going to run it on as well as the quarry it is running against, Colli/Grey crosses are a good starting dog.
