  2. I had to phone UK Custom Shop Ltd about a part for my wildcat mod and the service was fantastic. I was told the part would be there the next day and it was. Give them a call I am sure they will be happy to help.
  3. I have the same the TX200 hc in 177. I honestly love it, it my favourite gun to shoot. Very accurate. The bear trap takes getting used to but the secret is to have the pellet out ready before you start to reload. ,
  4. I bought a Remington 700 varmint barrel in 22 250 from SGC a few months ago. Not sure if its the sps. It's my first centre fire. Very impressed with it and its accuracy given i am new to centre fires. The only down side is that it is one of the Remingtons with a faulty trigger so it has had to go back to have a new trigger fitted which is taking ages.
  5. I was told that as a bullet travels forward it creates a short of bow wave out of air as it parts it, a bit like a bow wave caused by a boat. This bow wave pushes the rain out if the way and so the rain does not effect the flight of the bullet. I am not sure if someone was trying to wind me up when they told me this or if its true
  6. Mine come to me if I squeak or if I rattle a plastic container with food in it. I just make the noise whenever I go to feed them. I have one that will sometimes come to a whistle as well
  7. Last year I sent around 35 letters asking for ferreting permission and got 2 farms. I am going to try the same thing thus year and see what happens.
  8. Wanted ferrets Devon area A friend of a friend is looking for some ferrets to keep as pets. She has had them as pets before but recently her one remaining ferret died. She would prefer micro ferrets and has found some for sale in Hampshire and Gloucester. She lives just outside Torquay in Devon. Does anyone have any ferrets available, preferably micro or just very small, that are closer?
  9. I had all mine brought out of season but one carried on as if she was in season. She was dragging one of the others around by the neck. I got her jabbed again and that sorted out the problem. If you looked at her she had no swelling so did not look she was in season, the only sign was the dragging of the other ferret. I had the same problem with her last year and the second jab sorted it then also.
  10. its what I use for on all my guns, brings the wood on my shotgun up a treat.
  11. I use bamboo canes bought fom B&Q. Not ideal but cheap to replace
  12. I built my sleeping boxes quite big about 30cm by 30cm. In the winter I put a shoe box stuffed with straw into the sleeping box and then pack straw around it. On cold days I have found five ferrets in one shoe box all nice and toasty warm.
  13. I had a look at an over and under in the gunshop and was not imprssed. It felt cheap and flimsy. For rough shooting it might be a better idea to buy secondhand
  14. Theres a private air rifle club at Ashcombe Adventure Centre which is out towards Dawlish. Its a bit of a drive to get to from plymouth but i did shoot there once and it seemed very good.
  15. The gun is 8 months old, I bought it new but it is my first rifle. I am going to take it back to the shop on Thursday and see what they have to say
  16. I have managed to damage the stock on my Weihrach HW60J .22lr by over tightening one of the two retaining bolts that attach the metal part of the rifle into the wooded stock. I find that after about 50 rounds these two bolts work loose so need retightening. During tightening I hear a crack and discover the wood in the stock has split. (I am having a run of bad luck at the moment) Anyway two questions. Firstly are these two bolts working loose a common fault on this gun or for that matter any 22lr? Secondly if the stock can not be repaired can anyone recommend the best place to b
  17. I have been out a few times in Cornwall with a pack of terriers and we normally get a couple. The lads who organise it told me that this season they got 100+
  18. About 12 years ago I came to Devon on a 3 month contract and never left. One of the lads I was working with turned to me one day and said “Look at those tourists they have paid to come here, I am paid to live here.” That summed it up for me. The down side to Devon and I suspect possibly Cornwall is houses prices but if you get to know the area there are bargains to be had.

  20. Saw two today in Cornwall (South East corner)
  21. About 6 years ago i got stopped on the motorway doing 95mph. The result was a summons to court but because it was a Road Traffic Offence I could plead guilty by post, which i did. By doing this I could also submit a written explanation / mitigation. I did this and wrote a brief grovelling letter. I ended up getting 5 points on my licence, a fine, a costs totalling about £480.
  22. My .22 is buy 200 hold 500 When the FEO (Devon and Cornwall) visited she asked me if I thought that this would be enough bullets. I told her if I shot 10 rabbits a week 500 bullets would last me the best part of a year, so I did not think I would need more. I also told her I wanted to hold 500 so I could try different makes of bullets to see which my gun prefered she seemed happy with this.
  23. The last time I bought clays I paid £7 or £8 for 150. The clays you miss may or may not break when they hit the ground. The ones that do not break you reuse
