  1. I would avoid "breeders" at all costs personality and look for workers, plenty of which are kc reg. There are a few breeders who will breed "to keep a line going" but will often user untested dogs and ate obviously in it for the money or to make a name for themselves through breeding rather than getting their dogs out in the field and doing the biz. Don't listen to the scaremongering either mate the lads i know who own lurchers have had more injury worries than the folk worth whippets and i know a lot more people with whippets. Hope you find what you ate looking for
  2. I've had my pup on 28 since 5.5 months with raw added to his diet aswell. I haven't had a problem since changing hon over
  3. I do similar to thefensarefar... However, if i had the money they would all be in the hydro pool in the month leading upto the season but i don't have several hundred quid spare and even if i did my mrs wouldn't let me spend it on that!
  4. Thanks mate he is a lovely looking dog. He look miniature compared to your black dog in that laSt he must be a tall dog!lol
  5. A fairly even litter then really with the exception of one or two. Considering he put his bitch to a ped whippet my pup has done well to reach 23". Looking at him today there is a bit of knuckle left so i reckon he'll make 24" have you got and pics of your dog sw?
  6. I don't mate I'm afraid. The fella that owned he isn't on here either. She was black and white with a slightly longer coat than yours. I hope mine is more laid back when he matures her us a right little b*****d at the minute!
  7. Hi kps. Do you know exactly how your bitch is bred? Sadly the dam of my pup and litter sister to yours died out in the field chasing a big bunny when the pups were 7 weeks old.
  8. Is that from the 2010 litter from his smooth brown bitch and rough coated white dog?
  9. Does anyone know if this member is still on the site or know of them? He owns the grand sire and dam to my pup and i would just like to speak to him out of interest. Thanks Alex
  10. Really pleased to hear this kev. Hope you have an enjoyable season with "dennis" (like the name by the way) from reading your posts it is clear how much he means to you.
  11. Well said bunnys for me a bigger heavier whippet losses the running style what a whippet should have most notably the turning ability. I have two whippets of different breeding and I'll admit that even though my coursing bred whippet is very quick whippets lack that real top end speed that you get with done lurchers. However, that ability to turn sharply and the rapid acceleration makes the breed a very handy rabbiting dog. So IMO the bigger whippets not only lack the top end speed but loose that ability to turn as sharply. I wanted a dog bigger that 21 so I went for a lurcher not fit one mo
  12. One of my whips loves the water the other jumps over puddles
  13. Cheers mate. I am growing more fond of him everyday. They keep my tootsies warm those boots. She can keep the low as! ☺
  14. Yeah that's what I wanted as I have two whippets at 20" and 21'
  15. Looks like she'll have some pace about her mate. She is a beaut. Good luck with her for the season, perfect age for it
  16. Cheers Mark. You never know mate can be a lottery re size lurchers can't it. I was hoping mine would make 25"+. But at 23" @ 7 months I can't see him making that size.
  17. I've got a similar bred pup mate. Dam was 27" deer/grey/collie/beddy/whippet. Sire was 21" pedigree whippet. Her is 7.5 month now and 23" i am hoping he gets another inch at least. Here some photos of him since I've had him with the last one taken this morning.
  18. I hope he does the business for you js. Sounds like you have gone the Extra mile to bring the best possible outcome for this dog. If the feet don't cause a problem he should put plenty of game in the bag if he takes after his parents. How tall did he end up? I remember there being some disparity within the litter if in right?
  19. She's a stunning looking pup. Hope she comes on well for him wm. He deserves a bit of luck after losing his pup.
  20. Heres a few o will be getting framed or drawn and framed
  21. It is until they get over excited and piss all over their feet!
