the right whippet from the right breeding is a cracking little hunting dog but i like a dog around the 25 to 26 tts mark so it would be lurcher everytime for me . i did have a pedigree whippet a big one has it happens when i was in my early teens .the thing with it is i like my dogs to be able to run what ever comes in front of them .pre ban of course .

it beats me how some people dont rate a dog unless its winning matches ,plenty out there that enjoy their dogs without having to be macho matching them fair play if it floats your boat and you like it ,but theres plenty of good dogs out there that are never matched but still .rated as very good dogs but the owners would rather keep it quiet and run on their own or among close freinds .

i second sirius post above but also got a couple in my own collection.the great game and king of the norfolk poachers being 2 i like reading again and again . but tbh the one i think will be my all time favourite is coming hopefully in santas sack lol darcys new coursing one .

just watched a documentry [on the run] where a ex detective and reporter go after 4 blokes wanted by the law for doing a runner . they have a armed robber cornered in a remote bungaloew and it takes the police over 8 hours to turn up because 2 differant forces are arguing over whos juristiction it is. try running something on the fens with your dog and their on you in minutes this country is a fecking joke people chasing a ha re or fox are deemed more important time wise than a armed robber

there is a lot of the same topic cropping up time and again but theres only so many topics you can write about since the ban .a bit like when everyone is complaining about the write ups in the countrymans weekly the writers in there are also stuck what articles they can write in there .iime afraid this forum along with edrd and other magazines have become a lot less interesting since the ban .

Fair comment pal, and yes sometimes my heart is in my mouth, but shes a working dog, and i give her what she was born and bred to do, she chooses to go up into those piles, she aint forced, and shes wise, same with golf courses, best way to kill a dog was the comment on here yesterday, and to that comment, i say, stick to your treadmills and plastic bags, and let the real dog men get on with it

really cant see how asking about other clubs and if theres any still going is loose lips theres actually a post just gone up advertising starting a new club up .if you cant ask on here something as straightforeward as that then its time to pack it all in and just say they the antis and goverment are right . not out for a argument of any kind not my scene but i really think sometimes that its getting a bit paranoid worrying about other people that dont hunt .

10 year ago i bred a litter of seven eigth greyhound one eigth apbt they ran really well with a lot more stamina than a greyhound and took all game and entered easily to it as well . in fairness they did have a fair bit of foot trouble but were worked very hard and often .
