had this book in my collection since it came out a few years ago cracking book by one of the best ever trainers who got into greyhounds from coursing lurchers and matching them .really good insight into the feeding and training of greyhounds which is easily adapted to suit lurchers also tips on injuries and remedies great little book for anyone looking for late xmas prezzie well worth the price and would imagine plenty about secondhand on e bay .

clonmel always first mon tue wed of february been over loads of times waterloo cup or forley it aint but the craic is even better than they were. imagine 3 days of wall to wall dogmen in one little town videos of the days coursing in every pub club and cafe and every way you turn its talk of dogs and coursing ,plus if you need anything for a lurcher or greyhound and you cant find it there then it aint been invented yet . used to be a very cheap couple of days but with the euro like it is ,can be a very wexpensive couple of days but still well worth it .if you go try those hot toddies on sale a

Why did you need to be invited, We used to enter for the single handed days. In the same way we entered for the doubled up meetings. Been out some days when as many as 20 dogs, all ran three hares each an more. Well organised so everyone got a fare chance.

i can understand all of the above but is it allowed on here if it was being posted about pre ban genuine enquiery wouldnt want it to end up like the countrymans weekly with nothing interesting to post about other than ratting and ferreting plus the show season.

i dont know how long this will stay up but am genuingly interested in knowing why the heading regarding poaching at top of running dog forumstates it will be taken down .i can see why illegal activities ie things otherer than rabbits or rats are not but i honestly think sometimes we are a bit overboard regarding what is and isnt posted on this site this is not put up to be contreversiol or argumentive but a genuine enquiery . cheers .

your right there charts there certainly wasnt any rollers outside the pub at the eoecc lol. just honest hard working dog men and women enjoying their sport and watching their dogs do what they had been bred to do.mind you you only had to go on the bank end at the waterloo cup to see the same 1000s of working class people standing out in the cold and wet to watch a great days feildsport and dogs doing what they have been bred to do it never ceases to amaze me how a few noisy antis can determine what we can and cant do personally i wouldnt piss on them if they were on fire .

got me thinking breakfast in pub before doing draw for running order or who you were running if doubled up. and first meeting of the season going outside to see all the other members and any new dogs or pups they had bought or bred through the summer then driving down to running grounds full of anticipation and hope for a good day and even better season those were the days untill that poxy blair and his phony army of followers fecked it up big time .oh to have those sought of days back .my opinion is we never will.

bred a litter of these about 8 yr ago out of my d platt deerhound greyhound bitch and j bradfords match dog .nice ltter .

they were certainly well run days with more hares to run than you could shake a stick at lol . hope my mate with the stick aint reading this lol.all jokes aside these were unbeileivable days for coursing and some cracking dogs owned by members of the club . and wo betide anyone slipping less than to 100 yds minimum , all hares had to be given fair law and if accident happened and short slip or trigger happy didnt the culprit know about it . as someone has allready said this club had masses of top quality running ground in them days .

how many members on here i know of a few but be great to see just how many members of the hunting life used to belong to this once great coursing club . there were some well know coursing folk who were members and some great coursing dogs .those were the days 16 dog competion and runners up comp and all ran off on the one day GLORY DAYS lol.

tbh i voted tory for the first time ever and only because of the ban but they are all a shower of shite imo and only in it to look after themselves . bollocks to the ban and the lot of them i say .

well one things for sure at 100 euro a pup he certainly didnt do it for the money probally cost more than that to rear them .

i love books collect all running dog books my opinion is for what its worth if you dont want to pay fair enough but imo this book is something that will only increase in value over the years .
