  1. True. . . . . but a few years on THL has got me used to that. I'd rather read his fish hunting with mink arrogant posts. Than some arrogant soul talking about e.u poleys!
  2. The lad is catching fish with a mink. . . . and its bringing them back. 30 is a shit load better than anyone else has managed so far. . . . . And is probably more than a lot on here have caught this season!
  3. The Americans breed ferrets in a multitude of colors. They also breed Angoras and other types. For the most part they carry a wide range of genetic defects. It's bad enough here that we have to deal with E.U x's, Bews, Silvers, Blacks etc etc etc. The last thing we need is more fancy colors f***ing up a working breed.
  4. He's American, it comes with the territory. At least he's not fat? And at the end of the day he's the only person I've ever seen on here that has claimed to have some kind of wonderful and weird breed of mustelid for hunting. . . . . and then actually proved it with videos and photos.
  5. The guy has trained a Mink to hunt and has made some good catches and shared them. Aye, he might be American and have a lot of the strange traits they have. But he's a damn sight more interesting that 90% of the folk on here. . . . . .
  6. What's so wrong with it? Happens a lot in line breeding, many top animals have been bred that way!
  7. It would be interesting to see what xena sees ow. . . .
  8. Wallabies and roos are very different beasts.
  9. Interesting Ray. I've always had dogs around me mate, since I was born. Usually multiple, most out, but always one in, often a retiree. I get on with animals, and dogs in particular, much more than people. And dogs seem to like me. There have only been a couple of years when I haven't had them, and it was very lonely, and I got into a fair bit of trouble I honestly couldn't imagine not having one in the house, it just wouldn't feel like a home. Saying that I don't like manic dogs in the house, and I don't like dogs playing or making noise inside really. The whippet is ideal
  10. No. . . I think you have misunderstood me. I PERSONALY think one thing. But what Born said is WHY it happened. As in - what legal things led to the occurrence, rather than what was right or wrong.
  11. Because . . . . I quite like spending time with my dogs. It's that simple mate, I'm sat here now, one is curled on the sofa next to me, and the other is chewing a bone in front of the fire. . . . Other than that it's just security.
  12. GTE - Because whether it's right or not, that's the cold hard fact as to why one is in prison and one is not. Doesn't mean I agree with it mate. . . . .
  13. To be honest mate, I've only got one. And that may be while she is easy enough to control, also she has a unique personality, and is very 'soft' to handle. Annnd she is a mongrel, so despite being mostly hound (3/4 beagle, some teckle and a tiny splash of cocker and terrier) she isn't a pure hound, and perhaps doesn't display all of the traits to the full. I also put a hell of a lot of time into training her and bonding with her, and never took her out in the field with another dog until she was maybe 8 months old. Having said that, when she goes, she can really go. We've had a few
  14. Yer mate, I was about to chuck out a 160 quid locator. . . .
  15. Funny as it may sound, I have less issue with the marines action than I do that of the police!
  16. I was brought up on it. Sometimes with black treacle!
  17. Paramilitaries....... Bloody Irish.
  18. I don't get te whole thing Bout keeping them in doors softening them up...... How much time do these dogs spend in the kennel? Surely if the dog is out regular every day in all weathers it'll end up with a decent enough coat / level of resistance.
  19. Each to their own mate. And that's what I require of the springers. And if doing a bit of rabbiting then pushing every bit of cover is worth it. But a lot of what we do itd just take too long. And it's more about tracking the quarry to the cover its in and then evicting it. Hedges are obviously a bit different, if you are working a hedge, the dog pushes down it.
  20. I'm looking forward to meeting you scott
  21. A hound has a different kind of nose and way of hunting with it, from what I've seen. And I've seen some real good terriers and spaniels so I'm not knocking them. And as for voice, as much as a terrier may yip or scream. . . . . you can hear my wee bitch echoing around the hills and forest. . . .
  22. Haymin - You're alright. . . . . you've got a fecking wall. . . .
  23. Voice, nose, and being a hound Size in some cases.
